Finally yes! Everyone keeps going on about how rubbish the cars sound with the off throttle blown diffusers and I thought I was the only one who actually likes the sound. It was the same in 2009 when everyone was saying the cars looked horrid and I thought they looked good and much better than the previous years.
Oh, it's a great sound and I completely agree with you on how the cars looked in '09. The cars in previous years had bits all over the chassis and looked really messy.
I used to like the sound of the cars off throttle, but hearing it live has put me right off it. I too prefer cars of today.
Sorry. I didnt set a closing time for the poll. I should have updated post #2 on this thread yesterday. Im using my phone atm so could a mod please update that post? Thanks in advance.
It was good to hear Brundle say "Senna up to fifth!" Considering I never saw Ayrton race, this felt strange but good to hear nonetheless
He is special to be that far ahead of Petrov, good on him. Just needs to get a good start and maybe more positions lol
i think mclaren are running more wing, with a more effective DRS system, but i haven't yet seen the speed trap times. anyone? mercedes probably top but then who knows.
actually, red bull are faster, by about 6 whatever units they use. not sure where the speed trap is though, i assume sometime after eau rouge on that straight. http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2011/858/6889/speed_trap.html
I saw on the bbc coverage that the trap was just after eau rouge. That might explain why the Red Bull is faster because with higher downforce through the corner, you can go faster. Still a bit wierd to have a speed trap there, did anyone else see it there or was it just me ?
so they've gone long on gearing then, not much of a surprise there tbh, didn't think RBR would be tha good tbh, Vettel has never been particularly impressive there before, but the last session of qualifying he seemed to suddenly figure out where to get speed. gonna see how good Vettel is tomorrow, a I think the McLaren is the fastest car.
Done. Massa is that far ahead of Alonso. Great start from Senna though, Petrov's a tidy benchmark, to trounce him like that on debut is pretty impressive. Hopefully he'll back it up tomorrow.

He is shocked you can tell, it was a life threatening moment, he lifts his hand (the 2nd time) then drops it slowly like "Did that just happen?" But I don't understand why he lifted his hand the first time hmmmm Anyway goodnight guys, tomorrow we will wake to carnage-overtakes and excitement. And I will not be looking at the front of the grid but somewhere near the back
