Just back, Preston were a horrible side, moaning at everything and came to stop Rangers play, the really annoying thing is we were not clever enough to do anything about it. They did a job on us but if they are good enough for the lottery that is the play offs then football has gone to ****. Motm for me Baptiste who cleared up midfield mistakes all afternoon.
He (and Smith) had good claims for pens against them. Sylla did at least save Manning a booking by coming and pushing him and Robinson away from the Ref when Manning was argueing too long with the Ref about a free kick, that wasn't.
Never lost at your place two wins and a draw we had that ref for the Wolves game he was ****e them and he was ****e today by the way what happened to Grandad the guy with the Moroccan flag disappeared at half time
A very frustrating afternoon. For most of the first half we looked like we would win comfortably, but we didn't turn up in the second half and wound up losing to a nasty, niggly side (both their players and their fans seemed be constantly angry). I know Smith has contributed quite a few goals and assists this season, but I still believe he shouldn't be a starting selection. He barely won a header against their number 5 (who looked like a good player) and when he went off we just kept pumping balls up to where he might have been if he was still on the pitch. The referee was appalling, getting numerous decisions wrong and doing nothing about their blatant timewasting. He did add on six minutes, but most of that came from a bizarre period in the second half when four individual substitutes were made one after another. There was then another farcical period when one of their players was subbed in added-on time and spent an inordinate amount of time applauding their fans before walking towards the tunnel in ridiculous baby steps to drag it out even further. No additional time at all given for that as far as I could tell.
One of the worst matches I've seen this season Aerial bombardment by both sides for most of the game, too many unnecessary fouls, and a ludicrous reffing display for the last half hour That said we didn't deserve to win. We lacked energy, movement and quality Play like that next Saturday and it'll be another loss at Brentford
He gave an extra 37 seconds to the original 6 minutes. There must have been close to 6 minutes when there player got banged up attacking Ingram. So very little for all their time wasting.
One of the very worst refereeing performances I’ve ever seen. The result was fair though, we were poor today. Not impressed with PNE’s lack of sportsmanship,
I don’t blame them for trying it on. They’re only following Neil’s instructions. Just plain bad, woefully inconsistent and weak refereeing to permit it.
The worst ref of the season by some margin. The constant badgering of him by Preston players in the first half (with no sign of a card) clearly paid dividends in the second when he totally ignored their cynical fouls and gamesmanship. However, nothing can excuse our lacklustre display particularly after a bright start. At least watching Sylla pretending to be a footballer was limited to 20 minutes today. Our need for an alternative to Matt Smith up front is truly desperate. Oh, and those confident that Ingrams can step up as the number 1 keeper had a reality check today.

As I suspected, it was a bit of a nothing game. All seemed a bit subdued considering Preston still had something to play for. Agreed the ref was very stop start which never really gave the game a pattern. Samuel didn't really do much but didn't get the ball that much as Smith lost a lot of headers. Wasn't a good game by either team. No real passages of passing and no real width beyond the fullbacks. Preston were obviously instructed to switch play towards Bidwell as quick as possible in the 2nd half. That was their tactic and it did cause us the odd problem. My accumulator came in though so well happy considering the result lol
What a horrible game and Preston are a horrible team. They initiated the dark arts of the game from the off, constantly in the refs ear, constantly whinging, constantly time wasting and constantly fouling. The ref let them get away with it and subsequently lost control of the match resulting in some of the most bizarre decisions I've ever seen. This bloke was the ref when we played Sunderland a few weeks back who sent off their goalie and seemed ok then. What a contrast from today. We didn't do enough to win the game and we didn't deserve to lose but we played into their hands. We had no invention and constantly lobbed the ball up in the air for their back four to gobble up. ( I think I can confidently say that the ball was in the air for seventy minutes of this game. ) We started the game slowly and predictable and that panned out for pretty much the whole match other than a ten minute rally in the second half that produced nothing. I can only recall one weak shot straight at the goalie from Manning early in the second half. Other than that zilch, which is pretty damning when attacking the loft end when you expect some goalmouth drama. Not one QPR player can come away from that debacle with a positive. Everything that could go wrong did. The corners were rubbish, we didn't beat the first man every time. The throw ins we lost the ball immediately and our free kicks were ineffective as were all of our substitutions. Ingram didn't look confident and his distribution is worse than Alex McCarthy's ( which takes some doing ) so I hope that Lumley proves to be a better option. The only thing that made me grin was Holloway doing an impersonation of Preston's Robinson as he left the pitch on 96 minutes. He was making out he was running but was actually going slower than someone walking normally and it took him roughly six hours and twenty nine minutes to reach the touch line ( according to Diane Abbott. ) Ollie for the remaining time repeated this charade in front of the Preston bench until the final whistle but the truth be known he was out Alex Neiled and that was his only response. He couldn't change it or effect it on the pitch during the game which is rather disturbing as Preston were ****ing awful.
Good summary 9s I think that Baptiste had a pretty decent game and made some important last ditch interceptions I was surprised Luongo stayed on - he looked really off the pace yesterday
I like him but he always has a mistake in him. Going for that header leading up to the equaliser was madness.
