Well done 'Udders, they have done something that we couldn't manage all season...grind out narrow home wins.
Also managed to get us in two years from top South coast side to possibly level with Portsmouth, who were in league two back then
For the last two or three weeks, I've found myself taking a strong interest in the Championship play-off race, and ultimately hoping that the strongest two sides (Fulham and one other, probably Villa) go up with Wolves.
Because only acts of violent conduct/serious foul play/spitting/abusive language can be dealt with after the game. If the referee had spotted the handball it would only have been a yellow card.
Possibly our last clutching at straws hope. Swansea have man city and Bournemouth away. Chelsea and us at home.
I'd suggest that is nothing more than an absolute essential requirement. Just one of the required pieces of the puzzle. Swansea still have to play Bmouth and Stoke as well. They already have a five point lead over us, if they add, say, four points from those two games, then you're talking nine points to make up (possible ten, depending on GD). There is zero way we could that without beating them. We need to beat Swansea, and have so much more go our way too.
Just a yellow? Suarez got a straight red for saving a goal. Surely scoring a goal deliberately with your hand is the same, if not worse. If the law hasn’t been relaxed and it’s just a yellow for blatant cheating then quite frankly that’s disgraceful.
Just imagine if... We go down, effectively at home to Bournemouth. Liverpool win the Champions League. Pompey get promoted. England struggle through their World Cup group, playing dull football, only to go out on penalties in the next round.
To be fair the only thing I'd really care about is us getting relegated. And Saints have been very kind in being **** all season so I've long since prepared myself emotionally for the inevitable hit.
It’s a red card offence to deny an opposing team a goal by using your hand. Surely it should be the same for deliberately scoring one with your hand. It has the same consequence.
I actually agree with, it should be a red card offence but it isn't according to the laws of the game.
