We're being outplayed ATM. Swans look dangerous and no sign of a SB plan 'B'

People see things differently, which is fine, but i honestly can't blame Gyan (i know he's not at his best) for this pathetic, pathetic football. The midfield is atrocious. I don't care if we go on to win 5 nil, the midfield is just lacking hugely. they've done nothing but give the ball away all game, and that's down to a pure lack of pace and skill.

Elmo and Wickham coming on. Why is it always the last 20 minutes before any change is made?

    Catts off and Larrson off.

Straght away with Sess on the left and two strikers. ball from Sess frees Gyan down the left, Gyan and Wickham against 1 defender. Granted, Gyan tries the speculative when other options may have been available.

This probably won't go down well coming from a mag but I'm just being honest here. I don't know what some mackems honestly expected. Gardner, Colback, Cattermole and Larsson. They're decent players, but they're hardly technical midfield maestros known for their technique and creativity, are they? Colback is probably the only one who seems to have any creative play and passing ability. Gardner and Cattermole are two battling physical midfielders and Larsson, whilst he's superb at set pieces and good at crossing, isn't a particularly amazing winger.

It isn't so much the quality of the players, it's just the selection of using them together. None of them really have any creative or technical flair which would create the smooth passing midfield play Sunderland fans expect.

Sessegnon is the only one on the pitch who really has all the right attributes. The four-man midfield, on the other hand, just contains no-bullshit midfield battlers with more simplistic playing styles. A Sessegnon-style centre midfielder would do you guys really well to partner someone like Cattermole. Cattermole adds the steel and battle, whilst the other CM dictates play and sprays around the right balls.

I knew exactly what to expect as soon as those players signed. Bruce always plays it too safe. It's why i keep saying we should use Sessegnon on the right, at least we'd have ONE wing completely sorted. We need players in the midfield, at least on the wings, who can move with the ball.
