Isn’t that the whole concept though? From day one you are hoping that your team does enough whilst you hope the teams most likely to be down the bottom lose their games.
We showed fight today, we did a lot of things right. I don't even think we switched off. More a case of them turning it on. We lack talent in various area's, but we gave a 100%. If people are moaning about today, then I suggest they find some highlight reels of Toon & Ham. Now, that warranted a meltdown.
it would be a long one if we drew up a list of piss poor performances this season. we are fully deserving of our position. Palace off to a good start. Awesome.
I came to terms with this season some time ago. Other games now are purely entertainment, no wishing or hoping.
From what you have said in the past Beef , that will never happen . Though now he has the EFL job as a get out clause ?
Can't fault the effort and spirit for over 90% of the match from the lads and Hughes set them up well with Beds coming in and being an instant hero, The first Chelsea goal changed everything and then all the doubts of a dreadful season returned to haunt us for a a few mad minutes, credit to Conte and Giroud too of course. All is not lost yet, a Chelsea win was always the most likely result today, but time is running out and I agree with SaintinNZ about Hughes not being given enough time. I would add that the board should've also given us the best possible chance of staying up by spending all of the VVD money on quality players in January, the club will lose much more than that in lost revenue if we are relegated.
I'm sure he'll be happy to jump ship once we hit the championship and have finished selling off all our talent. He's very good at that bit.
Hughes as manager, Alex in goal, JWP and Pierre in the starting XI from about October and we finish a comfortable mid-table IMO.
