It's a myth that all Italian clubs have amazing defences, just because they're Italian doesn't automatically make them have a good defence. That's an old wives tale...Barca put 4 past them without even playing well. They have the Spurs reject Fazio being touted as their best defender ffs!

Best tie we could have hoped for and being at home first suits us. We need the exact same game plan that we had at City. Try and blitz them at Anfield so it makes them vulnerable to the counter when they play at home.

The perfect tie and the perfect order of games.

There's old wives' tales and drawing too much from a very small sample set. One game doesn't make them bad, either. And we have Salah the Chelsea reject being touted as the top goalscorer in the league.

They came second last season and are currently third. Three Serie A teams have leaked fewer goals, while five have scored the same or more.

What matters is not how good their defence is compared to historical concepts of Italian defending but how good it is compared to ours. Small sample sets of goals for and against this season would suggest their defence is better than ours, while the opposite is true for attack. But of course it's an old wives' tale that Italians can't score lots of goals, as Barca learned. It could be argued the smaller sample set of one away goal was even more important than three home, considering Barca were unable to do the same.

Looking at league stats is irrelevant so let's look at CL ones

Think you will win fairly comfortably in the end. Roma won't have had to deal with the speed of movement and passing accuracy you guys possess... in the final however, it will be a different story. My suspicion is that you'll be playing Bayern should you get there. That could get interesting.

 

Roma have a good goalkeeper, we have to keep him busy on both legs though.

 

All that says to me is we're a better team than them, and play in a better league so should go through

IMO messi was not fit in that second leg and suarez and iniesta are creaking.

Roma get them and hit them.

IMO we need a similar result to first leg v city. no away goals.

 

Home first suits us in my opinion.

It does suit pressing & counter attacking teams tbf but I'd rather get the tense away leg out the way first
