Enough to be at the expense of our own citizens?

Why do the hundreds of people who will die in the next year due to inadequate health care in this country matter more to you than a bunch of Syrians who may or may not have been gassed?

Why do you think these people were killed? What were they doing?

Do you think they were just sitting on a park bench going "What do you want for dinner tonight? Chicken? OHMIGOD GAS eeerrrghhhhh *slump*"
or do you think they were protesting or attacking government personnel (police or military) in some way?

As someone has already pointed out, the amount of people killed in this so called attack, is almost the same amount of people we have lost to knife crime this year alone, in our nations capital.
Do you not think that the money would be better spent policing and protecting people on the streets of London, so they can walk the streets of London without fear of being mugged, raped or murdered?

If you take that mindset to it’s ultimate conclusion, we wouldn’t give a flying **** about any humanitarian issue beyond our own shoreline. A tad insular don’t you think?

He is a legitimate government. Syria wasn’t a mad country full of radical islamists. The fact is Assad was leaning toward a Russian pipeline rather than the American & Saudi one. So America armed an uprising against him.

Mush the same as Ukraine. We backed a leader that leant our way. So Russia took back Crimea and stopped access to the coast. It’s all oil and gas related. All of it.

So you’ve concluded that those gassed somehow deserved it? What the actual ****?

Assuming chemical weapons were actually used, that is a horrendous military action

Do i think we should be a little more insular?
When we have tens of thousand starving or freezing to death on the streets due to homelessness, people dying due to inadequate health care, benefit cuts for the disabled, the removal of free school lunches for our children and people burning to death in towers inadequately built from shoddy and flammable materials so landlords can save a few quid, do i think we should maybe look to divert some of our funds to solving these issues before helping some people in the Middle East in a war which will almost definitely come back to bite us in the arse, probably radicalising some of our impressionable youth who will go on to do something terrible, AND causethe creation of tens of thousands of Syrian homeless refugees who will have no choice but to pour into Europe to escape a war we started, further depleting Europes resources?

Yes, I think we should be more insular <ok>

If they had just shot these people instead of using gas, would it be different?

Most people will assume that chemical weapons weren't used , the 7 year war has been won by Assad with conventional weapons why would he do the one thing that would unravel all his hard work and his supporters sacrifice ?

    He wouldn't he didn't it's propogander .

The argument is brain dead, Assad has been accused of gassing 70 People so the humanitarian response is launching missiles that will kill thousands <laugh>

    Absolutely mental

Not really read your own post that I replied to, you questioned the supposed innocence of those reportedly gassed.

This same topic is on the politics thread, just that one has gone a little wayward.

    What/who next after Syria?

The missiles that they’ll launch won’t kill thousands though, watch it pan out.

I’ve already said that the proposed military response is bollocks btw, keep up.

Trump will have a semi on as the MOAB hits a deserted airfield with a couple of already ****ed planes parked next to it. Go ‘Murica.

    Once again I agree..

Though I’d be interested to see if we launch missiles whether this lauded Russian missile defence is as good as they are making out. Also whether the yanks have something new up their sleeve..

    Really?
Cause that isnt what happened in Afghanistan, Iraq and has been happening in Syria for years under Obama's relentless drone striking?

There will be "collateral damage" trust me.

And this is leaving aside the implications of Russia's involvement.
