If you went into a LINN dealer and asked for the top spec LP12 , have you seen how much it will cost ?
Out of my price range. I'm looking to spend between £2 - £3,000 this year, on deck, amp and speakers.
If I didn't have the LP12 , I would not even go there , but have owned it since 1983 and it's ended up back with me . If I was starting afresh , I would look at an all rega set up , or perhaps Project / Rotel ? Cost of the all singing one = https://www.whathifi.com/linn/klimax-lp12/review
Yes they can , and they always have been able to . It's a more mellow sound IMHO , but one that I prefer .
Go easy on him Jasper... Kustard spent two weeks running in circles around his first CD shining a light pen at it ... until somebody took pity on him and mentioned that he would need a CD player
Yes , have never got to grips with that stuff . It can be done well , but seems flipping complicated . Pisses me right off that these days , car's only have a 1 slot CD in the car if that !!!
Also , and I an only speak for myself , I like taking the LP out of the album cover , cleaning it , etc . In the same way I miss Photo Albums that you open and flick through the pages . Not having to fire up a PC first .
I don't use vynyl or cd's I don't own even 1. I just use spotify, the quality is good/superb depending on what you play it through. Using a PC is for MP3 is a bit old nowadays you carry around a computer in your poket and can stream music film and tv from it.
I thought everyone knew? Not the dog's name, or the painter's, but the His Master's Voice bit was pretty widely known, I thought? Anyway, CD's are **** i-pods are better, but digital sound will never achieve the depth and texture of analogue.
