    What Tobes said...
Went to a NFL game at Twickenham last year (cardinals verses rams), and it's worse live than it is on the telly. 3 hours of complete ****, sitting next to people who thought it was a fancy dress party. I think the tickets were over £100 each, fortunately they were a gift from a vendor.

I've been to a few games. The minor league games are more fun than the big games. But really you go to be with people. No one goes to a baseball game to watch baseball.

    I am a fan of all 3.

i have been to see all 3 live and it’s much better than in TV.
The yanks really know how to put on a sports event, it’s all about the fan. You get good seats with clear views, good food, great atmosphere, and stunning cheerleaders.
    To give some context:
Baseball lasts about the same time as 20/20 cricket, with similar big hits and partying. Been to some great stadiums like Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park in Boston, and the Washington Nationals.

NFL (American Football) is like going to Twickenham back in the 80’s when you started drinking and eating in the car park 5 hours before kick off.

Basketball is just nuts, continuous non stop attacking action right down to the last second. There is no such thing as defence, just missed shots. Can’t think of a similar sport to compare with.
I was lucky to see Micheal Jordan play and you can believe a man can fly.

Best thing about my visit ( apart from seeing my cousins husband having a piss in a cup stuck in traffic ) was the sweatshirt I bought .

3 hours is way to long.

It is when the actual game is something like 35mins each half!
The best bit is when I guy runs on with a square of carpet, so the players can wipe there feet, between plays!!

The problem with basketball is too much scoring. There is nothing to get excited about. Getting a basket doesn't mean much because... Well 30 seconds later someone will get another.

It's boring due to lack of lulls if that makes sense. Getting the ball in the basket is about as impressive as making a sideways pass in football. Happens at same rate too.

Yeah, takes skill to get a ball pinpoint accuracy to someone on the left of the field from the right, but everyone on the field is capable of doing it all day long.

Living in the US I've been to an American Football match and a Baseball game. The reason so much is going on (cheerleaders, t-shirt giveaways, organ music etc)... well the sports are boring so they try to entertain you in other ways.

I disagree, I love the NBA and find the skill levels amazing. There are plenty of breaks and time outs and then full on action inbetween.

Don't disagree about the skill levels. They're obviously talented and amazing athletes... I couldn't do what they do... And not only because I'm just shy of 6' instead of being 7' tall.

There is nothing comparable to a goal in football though. No single action that really has the potential to be a seismic shift in the score.

It's more maintaining a score and pressing the intesity and consistency. I think BT do it over here I'd love to be able to watch it but not paying those ****ers.

Went to an NFL game at Wembley - found it far too slow and well over 3 hours. You could tell when there were adverts on as the players were standing around waiting to start the next play...

Went to a Baseball game in Kansas City last year. Found it slower than the AF game. Not for me either... but at least I tried it

More of an Ice Hockey fan. Been to matches in Tampa and Toronto... and Basingstoke! Prefer the pace to them but can still take too long to play a 60 minute game

Will have to try a basketball game at some point

Baseball to me belongs with other "sports" where you don't break a sweat like cricket, darts, and golf in the "games" category rather than the sport category.

Sure, they require skill, but it's not really a sport. A lot of baseball players are lardarses like darts and golfers. If you can be a fatty and top of your sport it usually isn't a real sport.

NFL and Sumo wrestlers can be right chubby bastards too but at least they break a sweat doing what they do.
