Does it really matter if we play the first leg away or at home? City were unable to turn it round and they played the first
    leg away.

Under the josh in first half. 2ns half was much mlre even and once we got that goal we looked the much more threatening. For all city’s passing we liked comfortable in defence

Just a quick search found this -

The 2012/13 season saw a record number arrested for pyrotechnics

There were 71 arrests for ‘Possession of a Firework / Flare at a Sporting Event’. This was an increase of 154% on arrests recorded for the 2011/12 season (28). These arrests have occurred at more matches in the Premier League (26) and Championship (21) than in League 1 and League 2 which saw less than five arrests each.
People are getting jailed and banned
    • In November 2013 a Manchester United fan that set off a smoke bomb during their clash with West Bromwich Albion - Sir Alex Ferguson's last game in charge – was given a two month jail term (suspended for 12 months) and banned from any football grounds for three years.
    • In February 2013 two Chelsea fans were jailed for 28 days and given six year football banning orders for taking smoke bombs into the Liberty Stadium for a match versus Swansea City. Their appeal for the sentence was thrown out.
    • In January 2013 an 18 year old Exeter City fan was jailed for two months and given a six year banning order for attempting to take a smoke bomb into Torquay United v Exeter City.
    • In August 2012 an Oxford United fan was jailed for two months and given a six year banning order for taking a smoke bomb into Home Park for a match versus Plymouth Argyle.

I think a few are muddling up what happened the one where VvD thought he had been fouled was not a foul but as he passes the ball sterling clearly, and i mean clearly shoves him over, as i said yesterday i think Vvd had already made the pass but i can see that it was a foul there, pundits seemed to focus on the bit just before that. Vvd should not have been moaning and i think that his pass went where it was going with or without the shove.
I honestly dont even know what the rule is there, as we see pens given where the contact comes after the ball has been moved on.
Watch it back again though there is a clear shove. Tbf would expect a toffee to see the shove though cause they didnt see holgates, however they did see lovrens, strange that, oh well :bandit:

Depends on who we are against imo. Vs City being at home first worked in our favour in terms of our style of play against theirs.

Tell you what else has gone unoticed too, on sunday two players were sent off for shoving in the arsenal match, to the letter of the law ederson should have walked yesterday, how many times did he shove mane ? replay clearly shows mane slipped
Mane did very well not to retaliate there and ederson had nothing to do with the challenge.
So the decisions were not all in favour of lfc, i totally agree second goal should have stood but. Also sterling dives were borderline to stupid last night.

How much dosh have we earned so far for getting to the semis? Don't we have agreements with the sponsors for getting further?

Thought Ederson's reactions were utterly outrageous. Obvious to the whole world and his wife that Mane had slipped - why he was booked was ****ing bewildering. I posted before the game that City would do whatever they could to get one of our players sent off, and I suppose, in their position, that's legitimate and we'd have done it too. They actions of that goalie were totally out-of-order though, and if Mane was playing their game he should have gone down holding his face and got HIM sent off.

Strange how the BBC don't balance their article with some honesty and state that although a scumbag from our side set one off so did a City yob.
No matter what the punishment it's time our club firstly condemn the use of pyrotechnics and secondly threaten that those that let flares/smokebombs off in future will receive a life ban from Anfield.
Also the club should point out Uefa's flawed punishment for pyrotechnic use as in some clubs get punished and others don't because it's somehow seen as part of their culture.

You can accuse UEFA of being inconsistent with their latest charge, but in fairness you got a charge for flare throwing etc the previous week, so you hardly demonstrated that your fans had taken that fact on board.

The thing that was worring about that one incident, trying to take the teams out of it, was, the shoves were not quick repeated he was clearly trying to get a reaction, and there were at least four (?) now had mane reacted = straight red = misses final.
Was that calculated or not ? Either way it was a red, for a team set how they were i do not see how they would have kept us out with ten men and score the goals.

That ref and his team last night defo need looking at though

So just to point out to none reds, i think the ref was #bentasfuck, and we both got away with ****.
The only solace i can sort of take is that whilst city did a lot of huffing they didnt really trouble us though had the second goal been correctly allowed we cannot say how the game would have gone.

If the conspiracy theorists are right we will get decsions against us that cause our demise anyway.

No problem with the fine and i expect inconsistency with uefa.

That **** is dangerous, if they need to make examples so be it. Would love to see parity but never going to happen

There are unfortunately idiotic ****s that not only let flares off but also stand close to them and say **** all, if more people stood up to the twats who seem hell bent on getting us kicked out of Europe(again)we might actually see an improvement.
