Other than two deflections and us hitting the woodwork three times, we lost BUT not much to complain about if we play with that kind of composure this season.

Two Rangers youngsters introduced (Harriman and Andrade), both showing signs of good potential.

Yeah, there were positives, knowing that we've got a lot of good players out and we've just signed two new great players.

Loads of positives in that depleted team alone.

Taarabt adjusting very well. Not specular yet but the pass and move is coming.

Bothroyd, work rate improving... and tracking back? Impressive.

With DJ still out and Barton, Young and others still to come, bodes extremely well imo.

As I have mentioned on another post our problem today was pace and that alone when Andrade came on in that short time he caused problems.

Well, if we had someone else on for Dave we would have lost the ball a lot less and probably put one in.

Just frustrating as you could see, even with that line up, that Wigan were there for the taking today. Losing 2-0 to Wigan who are probably going to be relegation fodder again isn't going to help when it comes to signing new players. Thank the lord we got Barton in yesterday, he even left the game early.

Indeed & exactly why we need the new players as the squad without strengthening isn't/wasn't good enough. Alongside Barton, Young & hopefully a couple more defenders we'll have a real chance of staying up.

I agree that there's lots to look forward to, but today emphasized the lack of experience we have in the team. Wigan were poor, but they showed their experienced and we got punished for it. Both of their goals were lucky deflections, but they took those chances when we were backing off. We seem scared to tackle in defense and let them play it around in front of us. We were on top and suddenly sat back and gave them time to get back in to it.

But Adel is starting to show some real maturity, he just needs an outlet upfront and players he can interact with because he was restricted today as nobody was able to help him in attack. I've always liked Agyeman as he never gives up, but his lack of quality means he shouldn't ever start a game for us again in this division.

Agree that the Andrade and Harriman both looked very composed when they came on, certainly ones for the future. Betty looked sharper when he came on today, hopefully him and DJ will be fully fit for Newcastle.

But there isn't much point being upset by today's loss as it was in effect the last time we see that Rangers team. They did us proud last season, but now it's time for the new. Hopefully players like Derry, Smith, Buzz and a couple of others will develop and remain integral parts of the new squad. But some have got to go and it is with our thanks and ever lasting gratitude for getting us back to where we should stay.

Wubba the only real lesson we were taught today was in the quality of the finishing, but when you've got Dave against Di Santo what do you expect. When we have our full team out i think we'll do ok.

I thought we did ok today dont forget a lot of the wigan players are established premier players where we are still finding our feet,i think things we will be a lot better once NW has the players he needs. Also we didnt have any players who could finish out their today, adel i thought had his best game for us today which is very possitive, one thing i do agree with is dave really is not good enough for the premiership ball control is non existant very poor player.

I wonder what Joeys thought were today!!
