imo klopp turned this round at ht. i think he reminded them they are able to pass it to each other. many are saying pep ****ed it with sending off and formation change but imo the most important difference was lfc believed in themselves
The game started to change 10 mins to half time. It became clear there was some space in the middle based on Firmino dropping deep and running at City. We started to create chances and from there on they picked it up from half time Have to say though Wijnaldum is useless without the ball no tackling at all. He sits and keeps position but does not press the opponents. Get him on the ball he is a different player and I credit him with the first goal for taking out 3 city players with a forward pass to Ox.
Coutinho: "Even though I can't play in the Champions League, if we win it, of course, it will still feel like mine. I will be part of it, for sure, training with [the team] and cheering them on."
The morning after the night before................BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM The sun is shining and life is good
The perfectly fine disallowed goal just before HT more or less sealed it imo. At 2-0 the team talks are different, the task less daunting for City, Liverpool are more nervous and Pep hasn’t been sent off! You might have gone on to score anyway but it gift wrapped you the tie for me, I turned off at HT as a result.
Wow. We really got lucky across two legs but I’ll take it! Conceded a stupid early goal which was the worst thing that could have happened but to hang on and not concede is sensational. Then to turn it around and win the game - unreal. We’ve beaten the best team in England home and away - 5-1 on aggregate!! This is a beating!! Trent is my MOTM across the two legs. This kid is special. And there were great performances from all of the guys including Lovren . Salah - what a finish. The composure, the finish ... I just hope we don’t take our eye off the league though.
No, it's a clean slate from the semi's. The only player we had on a yellow prior to last night's game was Moreno so only a red card would have seen us pick up a suspension.
What happens to City if the ref doesn't let them foul Van Dijk for their first then book half our team for nothing?
Oh, the referee in the second leg was mental. Booking everyone for every little thing, and booking players for being fouled!! Eg VVD / sterling incident And we could have easily given away two penalties - now, they weren’t penalties but they LOOKED like it. On a bad day, they could have been given.
He switched the front three around. He put Salah central so he could hurt them more when counter attacking, plus he's better at holding the ball up. He switched Firmino to the left so he was more involved defensively and explored the spaces you've mentioned. Mane on the right still gave us the outlet Salah was offering.
Morning chaps weathers grim , i've got a shocker of a hangover but all is good since i'm sitting watching JK big up our (CL semi finalist) team.
