Rangers only 20, Joey was in jail at 25 after years of incident after incident.

 

Me and my flatmates discussed this - if you'd acted a dick, the chances are it won't hurt too much (physically) and you should just take it. If you don't deserve it then, take the slap, leaned back, hockle and spit straight in the daft slag's face - she can hit you as much as she wants then, the damage has been done and she'll look the bigger dick! Either that or just point out that she is rather unattractive, over and over again with a large smile on your face. Humiliation is the way forward!

Key difference is that Ranger is ****. He's already been dumped entirely out of the first team because of his inability to score one frigging goal, so getting arrested like that is just the final nail in the coffin. Useless player AND a big liability.

Plus, I think Ashley has learned his lesson over Barton. I doubt we'll be as tolerant with anyone else as we were with him.

I agree entirely, but the decision shouldn't be made on the basis of 'well, Joey was pretty good so we kept him on'. It can't be one rule for one and one rule for another, and thats aimed more at the fans than at Ashley.

Thing is Carroll was worth the trouble because he was a good prospect. Ranger isn't good enough to justify this kind of behaviour. Carroll was/is just as much of a thug, just he got away with it more because of his performances.

Just saddens me that Ranger's been given this opportunity, when it could have gone to one of thousands of people who would appreciate it, work hard and not **** it up.
