Teams who have overturned +3 goal first leg loss in Champions League knockouts
Team Opponent First leg Second leg Year
    Deportivo Milan 4-1 L 4-0 W 2004
    Barcelona PSG 4-0 L 6-1 W 2017

In 2004, Deportivo de La Coruna trailed AC Milan 4-1 after a disastrous first-leg loss in Italy, which saw Kaka, Andrei Shevchenko and Andrea Pirlo do the damage. But two weeks later they staged an incredible comeback, with Fran hitting the decisive goal 15 minutes from time after a three-goal first-half blitz had stunned Milan.

Charlie Nicholas provides us with his European predictions as Manchester City look to overturn Liverpool's commanding first-leg advantage in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
The Reds recorded a 3-0 victory at Anfield to make themselves favourites to reach the semi-finals, while Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also all in strong positions ahead of their respective second-leg clashes.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have a commanding advantage in their Europa League quarter-final tie, but can any of the underdogs launch second-leg comebacks?
Here's what Charlie is predicting for the five fixtures...

Liverpool's players celebrate their first-leg win over Man City
I think we're going to get drama and I can see my good friend Phil Thompson being on the edge of his seat next to me in the Soccer Special studio.
I don't think City will do it though because I see Liverpool scoring. You could see at the weekend again against United that City are defensively vulnerable when they have to take risks.
This is all about Liverpool scoring one goal to turn City's need into score five and it will be a major boost if Mohamed Salah is fit.
I could see City getting 2-0 up because they should have been out of sight by half-time against United, but as they get desperate I expect Liverpool's attacking pace on the counter to see them safe.
Charlie predicts: 3-1 and Sterling to score first (30/1 with Sky Bet)

City neat us 5-0 earlier in the season (crap red card etc)

We have overturned a 3-0 deficit after half time in the final, so its easy enough to do it over a whole game at home

Barcrlona lost 4-0 to PSG and still overturned the 2nd leg.

City are top for a reason they are the better team and playing at home, so it can be done easily. I just hope our players keep their cool and control in the game

It'll be tough without Salah so we need to defend like (I was going to say Trojans but they lost)...

My only worry is in midfield. One injury and we are facked. This is compounded by if Salah breaks down, Ox is the only player we have available to play in that position which leaves us vulnerable in the middle of the pack again. I guess it is time for one of the youngsters to make a name for themselves.

I watched the live warm up from yesterday and he seemed not to put too much strain on the stretches. Maybe it was deliberate hopefully he can make it to 60 mins.

Off to the pub to watch it, hopefully it's all over by half time and we're a goal up.

I believe Mane is going to score again and make up for that stupid red card early in the season.

You think it would be better to start with him?

I'm not sure myself. City will be all out attack from the off so maybe his pace could be useful. But then if all we are doing first half is defending he will be pretty useless. Fresh legs at HT maybe.
