I think it'll be a loan. I don't think Poch will bin Aurier off after one season, could be wrong but I think he'll give him another year to hopefully prove doubters wrong.
I'd definitely prefer a loan. Could be a tricky one to get right, though. Our loans this season really haven't worked out and most of them haven't played enough games.
Aurier deserves another season...he's as rough as Walker was, if you ask me. Couldn't wait for Walker to **** off around the time he did go to Villa Ohh and Soton equalise to make it 2-2 against some mid table outfit
I can definitely see a player in there somewhere, despite the obvious rough edges. He needs to stop going to ground so often, work on his throw-ins and improve his crossing. His athleticism and pace give him a big advantage, especially in our favoured systems.
Our loans in general rarely work out. Can date back to the likes Harry, Mason, Livermore and Townsend, all of them had more negative spells than positive ones. I think it's why Poch has said a number of times that he prefers players to stick around and learn, although there does come a point where minutes on the pitch are what a player needs most. CCV at Ipswich seems to be doing brilliantly and hasn't harmed his chances of a potential breakthrough next season, especially with Toby's likely departure and Foyth still being a year or two away from being Prem ready. Onomah had a good start to life at Villa. The rest... Well the less said the better.
Exactly...I think his raw traits can serve us well. Poch just needs to tap into his head...Poch is magic, we know, but even he needs time to get Aurier right
Kane, Mason and Townsend all had good loans at Millwall, IIRC. Kane and Townsend also had good ones at Orient, while Mason had a disastrous one at Lorient, somewhat bizarrely. Livermore had about a million, for some reason.
Mason's best was with Swindon I think. Harry done well at Millwall, can't say I remember the other two doing much there if I'm honest. The Mason-Lorient loan really was bizarre. That said, loans can at times help with the maturing of players, regardless of how well or how much they play. They're often far away from home and in some environments football is literally life, where players need to do well in order to put food on the plate, it can massively help to grow as a person. I just hope with KWP that we send him to a good footballing side preferably in the Prem, I think he's too good for a Championship loan. Or maybe a move abroad, Eredivisie would be a good league to learn his trade in.
Form on loan rarely seems to translate to form for us, for some reason Caulker had a couple of very good seasons on loan at Swansea, yet after just one season in our first team was sold Pritchard was damn impressive on loan at Brentford, but never got a chance with our first team Townsend looked useful for both Birmingham and QPR, but was one of them most maddening players we've ever fielded Kane was good at Millwall, but as everyone knows he was a one-season wonder three seasons ago...

He went totally off the rails, by his own admission. He's only played a handful of games for Dundee, yet they've given him the captains armband and have received bids in the millions for him. Clearly a talented defender, if he can get past all of his off-field demons.
The Lloris issue links with a Lamela/Moura issue, in my mind, anyway. If I had to pick a Spurs team to play for my life, I'm pretty sure I'd pick Lamela and I'd have a hard time leaving out Moura. In fact, I'd definitely pick the latter v. City, as I've seen how good dribblers cause them problems.
Yep. Won't deny I genuinely thought at the time we'd found the heir to Ledley when he broke through. Was way beyond his years at the time and seemed destined for the top. Think he got too big for his boots by wanting to leave for more first team football (and probably a bigger pay packet) despite having played 28 first team games for us in his breakthrough season, then along with having off-field troubles, it just spiralled out of control. He even made a number of poor choices footballing-wise after leaving us, first off leaving one relegation side to another, then accepting loan offers from sides where it was pretty apparent he'd be a backup there. Part of me doesn't have any sympathy because he's the prime example of the modern footballer just wanting the highlife and seeing £ signs but I do think it's a pity at how far he's fallen. When you look at the current crop of English CBs, had he continued his progression with us, he would've likely been a regular a regular for club and country by now.
He's still eligible for Scotland, funnily enough. Would be a strange turnaround. That's football for you, I guess.
I'd heard that the female relation was very close to home........ that the remark was about rather than to her...........and that it was said when he didn't know who she was............ Nought out of ten for awareness, timing and tact! Such a shame he went off the rails! I think Poch would have sorted him and got him playing cosistently at a very high standard by now. Ho-hum.
Apparently we're appealing the awarding of the second goal and trying to get it added to Kane's tally. I love him and admire his burning ambition to be the best but there is a fine line in the sand between ambitious and knobhead and I'm afraid swearing on his daughter's life that the ball 'grazed' his shoulder and now appealing the decision to award it to a team mate makes him sound decidedly like the latter.
Know where you are coming from, but really don't know why the PL made the decision. Kane's reaction was immediate, he stated it hit his shoulder and Eriksen is happy to accept that. Should be 'end of' IMHO!
