The trouble is that you just aren’t listening to Pouchy, son of Penfold.

Good to hear. I never thought he'd jump ship to be fair. He doesn't seem like the type and where would he go? He wants to be in England. Everton would be the obvious one but would they get past the Liverpool thing, and would he? I don't think either would.

Arsenal? Man U? Man C? Chelsea? Liverpool? Spurs? With all due respect to Benitez those types of clubs are going to be looking for better and already have better. They either have already or want a more modern progressive coach. Jose is going nowhere. Neither is Pep or Klopp. Poch seems happy. Wenger is on his way soon but Rafa is a bad fit there. Conte may leave but they won't be going back to Rafa after the strife last time.

After that the clubs are much of a muchness in terms of finance and stature. Any club on any given season can be the one to grab 7th down. Everton have a bigger budget, and Leicester have wealthy owner and the CL money and sales from their PL winning team. I look at it and the only realistic guaranteed better option than Newcastle right now are Leicester. They have more money to spend. But Puel looks well set there so is it realistic? Would they swap him for Puel?

He has been supported well here in his time, the board have given him everything the club have. When he wanted more in January they went and got him the players he wanted. The supporters like him, he has their backing too. He has nothing to be unhappy about. Most of it is either just fans who love a conspiracy, love a moan or journalists looking for a story. The January hullabaloo looks a bit daft now. I think he is here for the long term barring him failing to do his job properly.

Next season looks like it's going to have to happen without Kenedy. Being touted by PSG, Bayern and a host of others here and abroad.

That’s what happens when you get players on loan and with no option to buy. Good forward planning by Cashley and Penfold.

Don't worry. He's clearly invested in our new found team spirit and togetherness. He'll turn down the extra 50k a week and Champions League football to stay with us. <whistle>

Why never a fan of loans. All that happens is you either lose then because parent club can sell on for more elsewhere or you are forced to buy them just to stand still.

Wasn’t there talk that Leicester players aren’t happy with puel? Might not be a terrible shout but I think as long as Rafa is given enough then he’ll stay at Newcastle.

Hea lretty loyal guy and would only jump jump ship if something was seriously wrong upstairs.... so say goodbye :bandit: <whistle>

He's been indispensable this season and hopefully we replace him as we push on next year. We'd certainly have been in a hell of a lot more trouble without him. Loans are what they are, especially when working to a strict budget they're often the only option available to a club.

I love that people think either Kenedy permanent was an option or we should have bought an inferior player instead of loaning him. Ashley/Charnley/Rafa got it right. Loan the best player available to you and worry about next season, next season. Of course you don't want too many loans, but beggars can't be choosers!

Exactly. If we'd been able to loan a fit Slimani from August instead of buying Joselu, there isn't a fan alive who'd argue we'd made the wrong decision. Even if we'd spent money on a loan fee as well as wages.

They tried to get him on loan in August too but quite rightly Conte exercised his right to refuse a deal. As we've seen with Joselu, buying for buying sake doesn't actually provide much benefit. We waited and got through with what he had and then went for quality again. That quality and patience in obtaining us has contributed massively to our survival. It shouldn't be knocked.

isn't he just gonna be in the same boat at PSG/Bayern? Far more seasoned players ahead of him in the pecking order just like at Chelski. End of the day the lad wants to play football and feel wanted/part of the team (just like Mitro is now doing at Fulham). If Rafa wants him to stay and can convince whoever is in charge to part with the cash then I think he could be persuaded to stay. I wouldn't even entertain Lascelles as part of any deal either as that may well come in to play as they have been rumoured to be sniffing around.

Probably but it never stops them going and keeping the bench warm for some reason.
