Let’s hope you are right. The worse case scenario for us is obvious: They score a goal in the first 10 minutes. Then a second before HT. Salah is not on the pitch , not having recovered from injury. We are left with a whole second half trying to stop them scoring that crucial 3rd goal whilst trying to counter. That will be definitely nail biting. I think we could see a City quickly demoralised if they don’t score early but on the other hand we could see a team that says: “ sod it we are behind and have nothing to lose now. After the disappointments of last week, Let’s give it everything”
none of these things have happened yet so why worry. Lets just respect the ability they have and keep faith in the ability we have which has been to score goals Anything could happen. Look at juve last week. 3 mins in all plans out the window. IMO this one is about manning up, keeping faith and working hard. What will be will be after that. Last week city had no shots on target as they were given no gifts (our first goal was a gift really) If we are beaten by city being brilliant fair enough.
Deffo, I'd rather us frustrate than be open and go looking for a goal, the opportunity will come at some point we need to be patient.
Some have said Man City have nothing to lose going into this game. The same can be said for us. Sure, we had a superb first leg and we'll only have ourselves to blame if we don't progress to the semi's but who expected us to make the quarter finals? We've already over achieved.
We have, I can't see past Barca or Real for the CL tbh. Real have nothing to play for either, their season is the CL, and nothing else
We have to keep the same tactics that got us this far. We are not the CL top scorers by accident. We have scored in every away game and nothing should stop us from doing likewise. I remember the haters going like it is only Porto. Well after City no one is saying the same. City have to go with a back 4 and all it requires is the same ruthlessness we've had in this tournament. Compress the middle of the pitch, double up on their wingers and quick releases to Mane and Salah. I am of the opinion we must try and score in the first 20 mins as City are mentally fragile at the moment due to their past results. Mane owes us a worldie after his red in the away league game.
Although I'll be behind us all the way, I really can't see us winning the thing* - which is why I've said I think it's important not to lose concentration in the league. We slipped up badly on Saturday, imo - fortunately Chavs missed their opportunity to gain ground, and barring a total disaster their chance has gone. *If we get through to the final, I just might begin to believe.
Right or wrong time to play city?. They have been humiliated by both Liverpool and united. They would like to prove a point.
yeah we can't sit off. we are not reall capable. we have to fight for parity of possession and attack. that the only way we can play. anything enlse and we just fall apart.
Its harder for them without question. Its a knife edge they must dance. But... they have the quality to win by 4, we must respect that but have faith that if utd and taer them up we can do the same if we don't give up. fantastic attacking side with a weak defence but you have to get the ball off them and hold it to attack them.
Guardiola says he doesn't expect any revenge attack on the Liverpool bus, in retaliation to last week's attack on the City bus. "Since I am here it has never happened, the fans arrive in the right way. We knew it would be tough when we arrived in Liverpool and unfortunately it happened. "Where were the police? Tomorrow the police know exactly what they have to do. "For our fans it is just a football game. Come to the game and support us during the game. What happened last week has happened."
