You can’t tell me any of our players want it that much? I know it’s doesn’t guarantee results and tactically leaves you vulnerable but that is body on the line stuff, desperate all fighting for one cause. Who in a saints shirt plays like that? Plays like any of us fans would when your backs are against the wall?
We need a fresh start, no Hughes for me. Get rid some of the coaches, then Reed and Krueger. Then rebuild
Both Puel and Mopo made a big mistake in thinking they could come in to the premier and change systems that had worked for previous managers in the premier. They probably over estimated the quality of players we had.
That bit was ok for me but then someone came up and pushed Stephens and whoever it was wasn’t even spoken to. Not sure what the difference was.
Cider as it happens but you shouldn’t need it. Apart from the goals (ok a tad important) we dominated that game.
Agree wholeheartedly with this. Genuine question (for which I'll probably get a lot of abuse for and apologise in advance if anyone is offended but...) - People talk about the millenials as a 'snowflake' generation and that possibly explains why so many have given up despite us being in with a reasonable shout at survival. Is it really an age thing or is it something about the obscene amount of money in the EPL that raises peoples expectations to an unrealistic level? Carillo is a case in point. Actually a decent striker who I would not wish to judge this season because it is such a desperate situation. £19m reflects current market levels but compared to what we paid for Austin and Long (for example) it's truly obscene. How can anyone expect to live up to that hype? At the end of the day, January deals are inevitably panic buys and this was, in my view, one that designed solely to appease the fans thirst for a big signing. Someone MP2 had worked with previously and looked useful in his first few appearances but is paid to score goals. I fear for his chances now MP2 has gone.
I don’t care how much a player costs as there are so many factors in play when negotiating a transfer fee apart from the players ability. I agree it is too early to judge Carrillo and he is just getting the frustration of the fans who are probably more angry at the board for him being the only signing in January
I might have done if they hadn't moved it to Monday and back again. On the other hand, ****it, saved me £30. I'm at work and surrounded by gooners now anyway
The squad is full of holes and weaknesses and lacks balance. It is a mess. And then we put MP in charge of it. A good manager might have eeked out a lower mid table finish. But this talk of a strong squad is utter nonsense
Good performance in that we showed fight and desire unlike all season. We made an average Arsenal look good though. Wellbeck scored twice ffs. Think there maybe something in the team to keep us up, we lost but hope is there unlike West Ham result. Going to take a lot though.
I think it is the inconsistency that rankles. Yes, by the letter of the law it was a red card, yet a very similar incident with Maguire yesterday led to a yellow. Also it also encourages cheating as you know the consequences of taking someone out will get you a yellow.
