Did a bit of work in there once. They had the glass grinder right in front of the big window. Got my arm stuck in it, made a right spectacle of myself...
Had a bit of a "set to" in there myself once. Guess who I bumped into? Everybody. Time to go to the game. 3-1 City.
Blimey, I thought for a moment that you had written Intu the shopping Mall (ok centre) people, blimey that would ruffle a few people's feathers.
Castro will love this https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news/its-embarassing-hull-restaurants-pubs-1432017 Why is it so hard to get a late bite to eat?
When I was growing up in Hull in the 50's and 60's it seemed the practice for the evening meal (or tea) to be eaten at teatime, ie half 5-6 and eating out was generally something other people did. Although more people are now eating out perhaps that teatime thing persists. I always thought it was that people wanted to get food out of the way early so there was more drinking time.
No decent pubs in the town centre is part of it. Apart from Admiral obvs... Had a couple of pints of Pale Rider with brekkie yesterday, very nice.
All the restaurants I go to in Hull (Tapasaya, 1884, Butler Whites, Ask, Lantern, Cerutti’s) are open until 9.30-10.00pm (many to 11.00pm on Saturdays).
In the old days when kicking out time was 10.30 a group of us often went to Khyber Pass to get an extra beer or two.
They’ll usually stop taking bookings at 8.00pm (9.00pm Saturdays), though there is a restaurant in Hull that’s open until 2.45am (3.45am Saturdays).
