Another goal for Mitro today from the BBC "The Serbia striker fired in his ninth goal in nine games late on to stretch Fulham's unbeaten run to 19 matches."
Good player no doubt, but we're hardly missing him. Would like to see us try and play to his strengths next season, but would that be at expense of a re-shuffling of the team? Either way, there's probably too much water under the bridge on both sides and I'm just looking at it as value going up and up. To be fair, by the sounds of him, Nitro's already out of Newcastle in his mind.
We won today.. away at a recent PL champion’s ground. Without Mitro. Drop the **** socks lads. Rafa knows best. Bend. That. Knee.
Yes... At Fulham he has played 11 times and scored 8 goals... ...and in the last 9 games he's played for club and country he has 9 goals... They are two seperate stats? And quite simple ones to follow?
Right, I wasn’t sure what C&C stood for, thought it was a reference to the Championship. And that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
Think a number of people are just pointing out that you Mitro “happy-clappers” are missing tha point that letting him go out on loan was a masterful piece of business by Rafa. Our form has improved, he has had a chance to add value. Win-win and all engineered by Rafa.
You can't discount the possibility that he was a disruptive influence in the dressing room. Might be why Rafa left him out so much, to try and teach him a lesson. Ended up having to send him away on loan. We've had that ilk before.
There did seem to be a big issue with Rafa trusting Mitro. We should just let the manager do his job and trust that he has the best interests of the club at heart... which he does.
Hmmmm, so why couldn't he do this in the Champ last year? Lots of his appearances were sub I know, but he just wasn't that great last year. I guess he just wasn't used right last year, Rafa's insistence on a lone striker etc. We saw in the Norwich 4-3 how useful he could be alongside Gayle, when he took the defenders out and nodded down for Gayle to get the winner, but Rafa never built on that. No matter how well he does, I can't see Rafa recalling him, but we should get a solid £20m+ if we sell. Would love to see him back though.
He couldn’t do this last year because he wasn’t played. No doubts in my mind that if he had then he would have scored and formed a good partnership with Gayle a la the Norwich game. Also, not your comment, but the he’s found his level comments are absolute rubbish. Ignore it’s Mitro and how many other players scoring the number of goals he has in the number of games he’s played would be met with that comment as opposed to a let’s look at him as he seems to have the potential to step up type comment. Simple fact is Rafa doesn’t fancy him for some reason. We don’t know why but he will score goals at PL level in a team playing to his style and for a manager who ”loves” him. He won’t be an Aguerro but there aren’t many who are but he would get 10-15 goals a season.
Mitro and Rafa aren't a match made in heaven. He didn't perform when he was on the pitch last season, or this. I wont forget his performance against Oxford or his needless off the ball elbow that got him a suspension this season. We're doing better without him. £20m + in the summer would IMO be a good outcome.
