    Need to buy:

Striker - sell Joselu and one of Gayle or Mitrovic - would rather keep Mitrovic and wouldn't be opposed to Armstrong playing a role in the squad
#10 - we don't really have one but keep Ayoze as cover for #9/#10
    CM - sell Hayden
    RB - sell Manquillo
    LW - buy Kenedy
RW - better quality needed but keep Ritchie and Murphy in reserve (both provide cover on left too), potentially sell Atsu
Reserve LB - release Gamez and Haidara
Keeper - buy Dubravka, sell Sels and one of Darlow/Elliott

Gayle did foul Maguire but the retaliation merited a red card raising his hands into Gayles face
Remember that Shelvey was sent off for standing on Deli Alli's little toe

Just Gayle didn't go down and roll around like a tart

The problem I had with him was he criticised Shelvey, then he was on the next week after it had been revealed Shelvey was injured the previous week but he didn't say anything to take it back. He should have had the balls to refer to what he said the previous week was unfair given the circumstances.

The argument against is Gayle is about 2 foot shorter so Maguire practically dropped his hands to put his hand in to Gayle's face, rather than raising them. If he'd been sent off then I wouldn't have been surprised but it was borderline at best. Common sense prevailed, except for Lascelles also getting a yellow. Shelvey rightly got a red card for treading on Alli.

Maguire was very very lucky. Dirty prick. Mahrez dived aswell although Dummett should know better than to jump in like that. I love Dubravka. Our best keeper of the last 30 years

Lampard coming out with the “there was contact” argument in favour of penalty regarding Mahrez.

    <doh>

When will pundits learn the rules?

They also forget that refs aren't supposed to guess. If they don't know then it's no foul. On the same point, it bugs me when people say its either a penalty or a yellow for diving. No, it's ok for the ref to decide he isn't sure - so no pen and no card.

I thought the officials got pretty much everything right today. In real-time the Mahrez penalty claim probably should have been given you can see why the Leicester fans were pissed off, we would have been had it been the other way round. Replays show that the contact was very minimal and he probably could’ve stayed on his feet. The fact he didn’t protest either probably tells you all you need to know. Maguire was very lucky in my opinion, again had it been the other way round we would have been pissed off of our player had been sent off. Not really violent conduct, unlike that leg breaker challenge on aguero in the Manchester derby. Nice to see some crunching challenges in the middle of the park as well, there was a 30 second spell where there were about 4 or 5 in a row all of which were pretty fair and well contested...old school football :)

It is frustrating when MOTD rarely show off our highpoints or discuss good Shelvey performances, though the Shearer /Neville exchange after the Man U game was amusing.

Big lad that Maguire. Gayle looked like a little schoolboy next to him. But no red card for him (and no Mahrez penalty) was balanced.

Excellent day - one of the best this season.
    We're well safe now IMO.

What were you’re views on the “ penalty” and the “sending off” incidents as a Fox supporter.

For me it was no penalty as Mahrez went down when there wasn’t sufficient contact meriting him to go down. Can see why fans in real time would feel it was a penalty but not on tv replay from right angle.

Also Maguire should have been off on letter of law interpretation but for oldies like me shouldn’t have been a sending off as Gayles own fault and it wasn’t a “strike” as opposed to a “push” with the hand in Gayle’s face.

Congrats yesterday, deserved result and unfortunately our ground is becoming one of the easiest for opposition to come and know they’ll get a result!
On the decisions, I’d agree with you, can’t see what Lampard was on about with Mahrez, looked a dive to me, no contact and no pen.
I don’t think Maguire deserves further punishment than the yellow as Gayle was being cynical pulling him back for a number of seconds. The ref caused what followed by not blowing for a free kick to us. I couldn’t see any malice from Maguire just trying to get Gayle off him

At sat behind that goal and looked stonewall at the time. Having seen the replays still think it was a peno but its an 50-50 one. You would want it for your team but wouldnt against you

Gayle was clearly fouling Maguire for a good 5 seconds. The ref should have blew well before the incident but Maguire is lucky as the rules say its a red

But me personally think both should have got booked and Gayle crying to the ref afterwards deserved a slap
