Second goal given to Eriksen. Good for me on the prediction league.

It's an expression me and my mates use because a mate of ours used to say it to the landlord, just about every day. Normally before ordering a vast number of gins and then repeating the next day.....and the next day....and...

  3. "Stoke didn't give Spurs an easy afternoon. They gave Spurs everything they had but Spurs quality shone through in the end. They shouldn't be too disappointed with that performance."
(Matthew Upson, on BBC Football Live)

Sometimes, we need to listen to neutral pundits to gain a little bit of perspective.

I'm pretty sure that we don't know each other but you've got my name right. I'm Chris when I'm not busy being Brian.

Neutral? He played for Stoke, Arsenal and West Ham! <laugh>
I agree with your general point, though. We got another win, despite not playing our best stuff. Hard to be too negative about that.

Yes mate 36 from 42 points since losing to City. If it wasnt for the settling in period at Wembley we would be very comfortable sitting in 2nd. to be where we are is a magnificent achievement.

Gives Pochettino a real decision to make for the semi-final, in my opinion.

  12. Personally, I'm not sure there should be a decision to make. MV deserves to keep his FAC place - end of!

Only if we win. If we don't, good luck finding anyone online supporting the decision to start Vorm.

That's the thing with some people banging on about Trippier starting last season's semi final: Chelsea had a weakness at the far post, and Trippier was the one player in our team who could take advantage of it - but it didn't pay off due to our weakness for referees deciding who should play in the final before a ball had ever been kicked and doing everything in their power to make that happen.

Of course this still gets brought up by people who believe the Narrative of Walker's departure being motivated solely by Trippier starting that one match, even though it's since been revealed that he was throwing his toys out of the pram since the Watford match two weeks previously.

I know a lot of the stuff about Lloris is a bit of banter, but seriously he his been brilliant for us since he has joined.
Yes he makes the odd error and has his weaknesses, but bloody hell he is way better than any keeper we have had for years.
Whether he should be captain or not is another debate, but it can’t be a complete coincidence that we have one of the best defensive records in the league since he has been playing for us.
I have been supporting spurs for almost thirty years and he is easily the best goalkeeper we have had in that time.

  20. He's a very good keeper, been a key part of our recent success and capable of outstanding saves, but in recent times he is not 'way better' than either Robbo or Brad.
Unfortunately, for me those errors are becoming more frequent and his distribution has been dreadful far too often.
If you describe a great shot stopper, prone to poor distribution and the occasional howler, you're also describing Heurelho Gomes!! <laugh>
