http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-i-d-like-to-buy-three-more-players According to him 1 CB, 1 MF and 1 ST. Sounds good but why aren't two of those already here???????????
Bolton will have to settle for losing Cahill next year for zero.......Wenger is well pissed off over it. Is anybody else interested at £16-18m ? I doubt it. Go for Samba now.
im gonna go ahead and say we'll get Cahill. We'll go back in with a better offer. We'll then get 2 discount other players cos there is no way wenger will spend the full income from the sale of fabs and special face.
In an absolutely ideal world, I'd love the signings to be Cahill, Sneijder and Benzema. Would love Eden Hazard but by what Wenger is saying, he is looking for a centre mid, not another winger. Unless he wants to do another one of his infamous position conversions...
I think Cahill will come. Coyle is resigned to losing him and Gartside's comments are just the bitter rantings of a chairman who knows his best asset is already one foot out of the door, so is just trying to get as much as possible for him. If Wenger has already made a bid, you can bet he's going to go back in with another
Its interesting that Wenger has admitted exactly what we've all been saying. The squad is three TOP players short of where it needs to be. Benzema Cahill M'Villa that would be awesome. I just hope Arsenal can get their wallet out and sign the players we need. Time is of the essence.
Whoever is coming, I wished they were already here. This procastination by our management only works to the advantage of our rivals. Whoever we sign by Aug 31/Sep 1, we will effectively be virtually a month behind because of the slow start and the time it takes for new players to gel within the team. And all this for a few million saving which we may well have lost had we not been triumphant in Italy and what if the points lost in the EPL so far may just make the difference for us at the end of the year? It is worth asking if this transfer strategy is really worth the risk? Well, is it Mr Gazidis?
True. If we lose to United, then we are already 8 points behind them. I know a season is long and has plenty of twists and turns but that's quite a large point barrier.
Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith once made the suggestion that the board should be sacked. This was when she had come round to appreciating the contribution of David Dein. Mr Gazidis I understand is opposed to the return of David Dein. It's about time fans began a new chant ' Board Out '. Time for a change I think.....
for the three players: CB - Dann. cheap, PL experience, still fairly young and a beast of a player. CM - M'vila. Although he's a DM which I don't think we need, if his attacking abilities are good enough he will be an astute signing. ST . Park Chu Young. would be a very good back-up to van Persie and probably better than Chamakh. just recently linked to him by l'Equipe, french football magazine and website. link here: http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2011/20110827_121128_park-file-a-l-anglaise.html
Another implication of our last minute transfer strategy which I'm sure is apparent to fans and members here is that if you are pitching for a few players, it doesn't mean that you will get them all, the closer you are to the cut-off point. Clubs will play hard ball because they know you are desperate and while our board may think it holds all the trump cards, it would be foolish to assume so. Therefore I ask, how professional is this strategy? Seems more like gambling to me.
