I hope they don't push Operetta out. Staff, decor, menu. Don't think any of it's changed since the 90s. Love the place.
The White Hart is about to reopen and the fully restored bar is looking rather sharp... please log in to view this image
Some people will enjoy it for what it is, others will think it's a dated **** hole. Something you've got to try out for yourself. I've had some decent food in there and the staff are friendly. Sort of place where the chef comes out to talk to the customers. It's a refreshing change to go somewhere that doesn't serve your squid in a boot or some ****.
It is a dated ****-hole, but the food's decent. You'd think with all the money being spent on the site, they'd invest in a bit of a refit, the food deserves better surroundings.
I don't think the family running have much desire to change the formula they've had for the last 25 years. Which is a shame. They'd probably attract a lot more custom with a lick of paint. Maybe the new building owners will recognise there's a decent product in there and work with them on it.
Bloody council planners, we could've had another Greggs, but instead we get this... https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink/pret-a-manger-hull-shop-1428736
“Posh” sandwich shop. Oh do **** off, it’s like Steve Bruce calling us little Hull, ****ing belittling us.
Ideal location in the summer when the fountains are on, bit of outdoor seating, etc. It’ll do well there.
That's the HDM for you. It is good that the planners rejected Greggs and accepted this though. Anytime before us winning CoC, Greggs would've been welcomed with open arms. CoC has had a fantastic effect on us.
