Team news: Confirmed Liverpool line-up v Everton


Liverpool make five changes for the Merseyside derby clash with Everton at Goodison Park.


Nathaniel Clyne makes his first appearance of 2017-18 as he begins at right-back, while Ragnar Klavan lines up on the left-hand side of defence.

Georginio Wijnaldum returns in midfield, while Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke are drafted into attack to join Sadio Mane.

Mohamed Salah is left out of the matchday squad after picking up a knock in midweek, but there are places on the bench for Academy youngsters Curtis Jones and Conor Masterson. Roberto Firmino is also among the substitutes.

Liverpool: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Van Dijk, Klavan, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Mane, Ings, Solanke.

Subs: Mignolet, Firmino, Moreno, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Masterson, Alexander-Arnold, Jones.

 

Id take a draw to be honest

 

Curtis Jones on the bench. He has looked decent in the u23 games I have seen, but whether he is up to a derby game we will have to see. Due to Hendo being banned for the next game I hope he does not get injured today so he can play the full game.

 

Must be Evertons best chance to get a result in a long time

 

So Robertson not even on bench - hope he is just being rested.

Can only see that being the case, this is a little confused but will give us a chance to see if these replacements get the plan and it doesn’t look like a completely different style of football.

 

this is going to be a **** show. it's a duke it out dogfight as its the Mersey side debry.

 

Solanke will definitely be central but I'm thinking Mane might be behind Solanke & Ings in a 3412 system.

This is a must-win for us on two points:

1. We're playing Neverton who are quite frankly **** and there are no excuses for us not putting in a shift, whoever we field and even if we are playing away
   
2. If City kick Manure to the kerb as expected that's us in second should we win, which is very, very important

 

it's just for experience. he's very young and would get bullied if put in here.

for me masterson is a warm body here. if a cb drops then we will go 433 imo. ox or moreno on.

 

how is it important. first loser is still a loser.
