QPR fans think if Holloway changes the team - as he did when they lost to Reading - they'll deffo lose to us. They're safe with nowt to play for, so he could allow himself the indulgence of looking at/trying out new line-ups...
Don't think we can underestimate them , they turned villa over not so long ago and the big lump up front can be a handful . I just hope we come out the blocks like against Norwich , I thought we where too cautious against villa at first and showed them too much respect
That seems likely. We actually battered Reading but the team selection was bizarre. Now he’s found a system that suits our players we’ve been playing very well lately against some of the division’s better sides. We’re losing a few of our higher earners by the look of things in the summer so wouldn’t be surprised if the likes of Onuoha are left out. There was rumoured to have been a bug in the squad so it could just be a case of whoever is fit plays. Look out for the young boy, Eze. Exciting player.
TEAM NEWS The Tigers have no major injury concerns ahead of facing against QPR Only Moses Odubajo, Evandro and James Weir remain ruled out, with Nigel Adkins having plenty of options to choose from for the clash with the R’s. Abel Hernandez, Harry Wilson and leading scorer Jarrod Bowen were amongst those rested for the midweek trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers as Adkins made six changes to his side, but with an excellent performance and point coming from that game, it leaves the Head Coach with plenty of selection headaches across the park. "We’re all good," said Adkins. "There’s a few little niggles but you’re always going to get those. After the last two performances, all of the players are putting themselves forward for selection. "Like every game, I’ll be looking to put the right team out to win a game of football. I was delighted with all of the players against Aston Villa and against Wolves. We’ve had just about everybody out on the training ground, so we’ll get our heads together in terms of what we’re going to go with on Saturday." QPR boss Ian Holloway has hinted that he may make changes to his side after illness moved through his squad this week, with his players in high spirits after their 4-1 Easter Monday thrashing of Norwich City. PRE-MATCH TALK Nigel Adkins says his players have refocused and are ready for their next challenge as a positive week comes to an end with the visit of Queens Park Rangers. Draws against promotion-chasing Aston Villa and league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers have been welcomed in the past seven days, but now a challenge comes in the shape of a QPR side in good form and Adkins knows his players must be ready. "It’s going to be a tough game because Queens Park Rangers are in good form at the moment," said Adkins. "They’ve managed to get themselves safe in the division and they’ll maybe be able to play with a little bit of freedom and do something different. Ian Holloway is an imaginative coach, too. "They scored four goals the other day and although they lost the game before that at Reading, they battered them in the game. "QPR are in form and it’s going to be a challenging game, so we’ll have to be bang at it. Everybody has refocused after the midweek game to make sure they are ready for this next challenge." Michael Hector, meanwhile, knows that the Tigers still have work to do if they are to remain a Sky Bet Championship team next season and has urged his team-mates to keep their focus as they look to secure their second-tier status. "We're not safe yet whatsoever," he said. "We've just got to take it game-by-game and focus on getting as many points board as we possibly can. "Our job is not done. It's six huge games to come and it's QPR up first at the weekend. They've been playing some good football of late and come here on the back of a good run of form, so it's going to be a tough game for us. "But we know what we have to do and it's all about producing the goods. Our performances of late have been good, whilst our form in the final third of the season has been pretty good as well. "We've just got to keep producing the performances, keep winning games and keep picking up points." OPPOSITION VIEW Ian Holloway believes his side are finally beginning to play with an identity that suits the players at his disposal, and one he had always hoped to bring to Queens Park Rangers. The R’s are currently enjoying a fine spell, winning three of our last five games, and on Easter Monday produced our best display of the campaign when overcoming Norwich City 4-1. A catalyst behind our recent results has been a change in formation with the Hoops now playing more of a 4-4-1-1 as opposed to a 5-3-2 and it’s something Ollie has been keen to explore all season. Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, the gaffer explained why he waited so long to use his preferred set-up. "We have moved away from the five and gone to a back four which gives me the opportunity to put another forward in and I feel the lads are ready for that now," said Holloway. "People might say why didn't I do that earlier on? Well I didn’t have everybody ready then! We had injuries and the young lads, who are improving game by game, still needed some time. But they have become more and more confident because we have moved other people on and started to back them. "We continue to develop our identity and I think we are beginning to see the consistency in the work-rate, the consistency in the pressing and consistency in our choices. We are getting more of our own identity. "It hasn’t been easy but at the end of the day we had a terrible run of injures to the defenders and I felt we needed to bolster that up as we didn’t have natural defenders in there. "I lost my patience after losing five goals at home to Nottingham Forest, and I didn’t feel that we knew how to win against a certain formation. Hull play it, Villa play it, Fulham play it – I think the results we have had in the last month prove we can do a lot better against that kind of tactic by putting our shape onto the opposition." LAST TIME OUT Idrissa Sylla netted an injury-time winner as QPR came from behind to beat Hull City at Loftus Road. Jarrod Bowen had given the Tigers the lead 10 minutes before half-time, but QPR substitute Matt Smith levelled from Luke Freeman's ball in, after Sylla had seen an effort hit the post and cannon behind off Hull keeper Allan McGregor. Sylla then popped up to finish off after Conor Washington's shot had looped into his path. There was still time for Hull to go close to earning a share of the points, but Smith was on hand again as he cleared Michael Hector's header off the line. TICKETS Tickets for this afternoon's game will remain available to buy online until one hour before kick-off (print at home) and in person from Tiger Leisure and self-service kiosks at the KCOM until kick-off time.
We'll get nowt out of this. If our goal difference is still in single figures at the end of it, it'll be a bonus.
What about this......... I've not seen the team sheet yet but I definitely don't like or agree with the line up what is that nutter Adkins thinking of we might as well bring that" parrot faced prat back" and hit the ground running and as for positivity who in their right minds wants a positive manager who clearly is out of his depth dealing with awkward owners and pessimistic moaning fans lol, his job must be a breeze, ADKINS Out time for pretty pollys return pmsl , 2-1 to us I had a dream last night
