There is supposed to be a link to the BBC website

Orban strikes me as very, very obstinate person. Not the kind of politician I like.

I've met lots of Hungarians and they're all lovely people. Trouble is half of them are called Atilla.

In front of the restaurant I worked in, a bit before my time, but I often greeted by the sight of homeless people shagging in the phone box

schools in one district in Pennsylvania have issued 500 teachers with 16 inch bats as a last resort against shooters, whilst another have instructed classes to have buckets filled with rocks. Hate to be in the position of needing something smaller than a rounders bat to save my life

Someone needs to reign in Donald Trump, before the World Cup is replaced by a World War.
The current situation is getting a little too hot and with the lack of decent politicians on either side, to calm things down and give each side a way out, we could be dragged into an avoidable conflict.
Hopefully Theresa May will seek the full support of the MPs, by voting on the next step, rather than see this as her Margaret Thatcher moment in an attempt to look strong and decisive, by pushing for retaliatory action, with or without support, when it can be avoided.
The only people who win, as a result of wars, are those that benefit financially as a result of weaponry sales, repairing the damage afterwards, controlling food and utilities and financing loans etc.
Common sense must rule, so keep Boris Johnson locked away somewhere.

Unfortunately we probably owe America a favour after the whole Skripal debacle so I can't see us saying no to them. I guess it's similar for France after the response following the terrorist attacks there.

There’s talk the French may be the ones leading on this and may even have said privately that they’ll take action if the US doesn’t.

Macron really is the new Blair!

why would Assad do something as stupid as this gas attack(i know his past record) but that was when he was in danger of losing, now he is on the verge of winning. the only country that would benefit from Syria getting its arse kicked by the west is Israel. The gas attack has not been confirmed by any independent agency, I hope the west will chill until they know the facts, and even then I hope the west does not get involved in something they can not win.

Same reason America nuked Japan or the Soviets put more artillery shells into Berlin while they had it surrounded than the uk had dropped bombs on it the entire war.

When you have almost won you need to hit them hard and break them so they don't drag the war on into a final pointless bloody conflict.

    that's a good response.

Still think it's unlikely though knowing that there are bigger enemies that are jumping at the chance for a reason to come and destroy them

Then hit them hard with artilary and planes, the west would not protest. It makes no sense to let off a gas bomb as the effect would be minimal and piss off the west

I dont think the effect of using gas us minimal but i do agree.

However it does make sense if you think that Russia are the aggressors trying to provoke the west as Putin would have given Assad assurances he would come to his aid against western aggression. It would then appear to Russians that they are in the right (and apparently to many of us)

I'm basically just saying this can't be used as evidence either way as it makes sense in whichever case.

There's certainly lots of intrigue going on here.
