I know all about it! Not back long after having a sarcoma removed in one hamstring I pulled the other one training two weeks ago!
Sounds like the sort of guy who would flog his grandmother for a bag of Monster Munch and a Yazoo milkshake. Wouldn't trust that **** if he told me today was Friday.
Agents are the scourge of the game, an absolute plague imo. End of the day, it's them I blame more than anyone else for our current situation. Not Les, not Kat Liebherr, not Puel or Pellegrino; agents, the snakes, hissing in the ears of every player they think might be going up in value.
Agreed, didn't he earn 10s of millions off the Pogba transfer alone? Ridiculous and a real cancer on the game.
Not if you're a player. Just because you play football, doesn't mean you are good at negotiating or organising your own life. I'd want someone to sort out my contract. As the club would employ professional negotiators, the players need someone on their side.
That’s a good point. Maybe the agents should be bound by the same restrictions as the players are, such as not being allowed to talk to other clubs until the player’s club has given permission. That would cut out an awful lot of the sowing of discontent which has blighted our recent history.
Can’t agree enough. We have been so royally screwed but we have been more than willing to bend over when the price suited. The club has been run as a supermarche for so many years now it’s expected that anyone who plays for us will be for sale. That box is not going to be easy to close. Perhaps our new goal is to fill the team with mediocrity, get relegated, start from scratch and come back with a new motto like “don’t ask, we don’t sell”. We can but hope that there is rhyme and reason at play here.
Has there every been an attempt to stop these 'super agents' influence on football? I suppose for those who can do something it would not be profitable to do so
I don't think there ever has - not a co-ordinated campaign to get them to adhere to a code of conduct, or even to assess their impact, for better or worse. Probably something the FA could look at, at least.
Watch Wolves next year for all you fans of agents. They will be best of the rest in the PL and should have some great players
Got a feeling we won't be calling Bournemouth mates come the end of the month... Yeah true but I think Palace will be alright. Really can't afford a Hudders win today though.
