It was too heavy-handedly moderated though and I think the mods would almost just go through and delete any post anyone complained about. As a test I flagged several moderator posts and put in ridiculous reason for flagging them. Almost all of them got deleted. (Which was pretty amusing at the time)
I know what you're saying. I had my own posts deleted on bbc. I still think sites need an impartial mod at the top to oversee. After recent events, we know that isn't the case here anymore which is the only reason I made the comment yesterday.
Ideally, yes, but that would be too costly to implement most places. Any forum large enough to employee a paid moderator would need more than one. BBC had several and they couldn't keep up... That's why they blindly deleted any comment that got complained about... Even their own.
I know. I haven't got a problem with people not being impartial in general, it's the gratuitous insertion of tragedy related stuff. That should come under zero tolerance whoever and wherever you are. I value integrity, it's easy to spot who has it and who doesn't. It's one of the reasons I like you
A prime example of what I was talking about last night about the lack of moderation on the BBC HYS's. "125. Posted bynumber144 on2 minutes ago I love sport. I hate what I saw on Wednesday. People trying to injure/kill other people in the name of soccer. A disgrace. UEFA will do nothing maybe a fine of a few thousand £. 'A few dozen yobs' Mr Klopp don't apologise for this ARMY of murderous hooligans. Ban Liverpool and throw them out of the competition and maybe things will improve. ReportComment number 125 Link toComment number 125" http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43602490 Disgraceful that the likes of that comment is allowed to stand and is viewable all over the world to readers of the beebs football site.
i don't know if this is better or worse but it appears to have been done solely to cause outrage for reasons so childish they aint worth commenting on.
I haven't personally reported it due to the whole thread being basically smothered with similar kinds of comments than the one I copied.
The BBC comments sections have become no go areas for decent posters these days, and to think it's supposed to be the non partizan subscription only bastion of Britishness.
