There are signs on some shops here that say no Japanese, bit like you used to see with no dogs or irish (no offence intended to the oirish)

 

The Japanese look down on the Chinese (literally as well as metaphorically) but the Chinese sure love going to Japan for their holidays. According to the wife it's because they can buy superior quality goods (particularly white goods) in Japan and take them home to China.

Mind you, the only people my wife dislikes more than Muslims is the Chinese.
