we beat them 7-0 over 2 games and the goons beat them 10-3 over 2 games so this will be your easiest win of the season ... apart from tonight of course
After what they did to City in the Prem game I suppose nobody should be surprised. Still expected more than this from City. Only saw the last 35 mins as I’ve been travelling, but City looked out of ideas.
evening RCL and what a fine evening it is too when everything is right (apart from Mo's groin strain ) in the world
been a fecking weird night for me enjoying a pool win another reason for me thinking pep is just an overrated ****head with a big wallet
Pep's philosophy is to not change your style no matter what is happening on the pitch. Last night that was his undoing, call me boring but Jose goes to Anfield and gets the job done. Shut up shop and beat them In the away leg. He flipped a coin last night and got demolished, his players will be psychologically drained just in time for Jose's big red bus!
^^^^^^^^^ Think this is pretty much nail on head. Mourinho has always been a more reactive kind of manager. He looks at his opposition and then picks a side thst he thinks can counter and/or frustrate them. And then, hopefully, pick them off. Guardiola is all about imposing his team on the opposition. Kind of ‘we’re better than you, we play better football’. ‘Doesn’t matter how you set up, coz we’re better and we’ll beat you’ Worked pretty well so far this season. Blew up in his face big time last night though.
City were a tad unlucky with a couple of offsides last night in fairness ...and Silva had a chance right at the end that might have put a whole different complexion on the return leg had it gone in ... If City get an early goal next week then it could turn into a real wobbly bum evening for 'Pool ... intriguing still. Expect Sterling and Sane bombing into the area from the off, hoping for contact.
A great result for the RS but the eulogising over their performance is a bit OTT imo City started the better and controlled the ball, Liverpool then scored with their first attack and Salah was offside. They then had a very good spell and rattled City extending their lead. After that City controlled the ball for most of the game but their final ball was ****e and Liverpool did defend well in numbers, City were then denied a perfectly good goal for offside by the same lino. Fine lines and all that, the lack of an away goal from City kills the tie stone dead imho. On and the bus thing, ****ing disgrace egged on beforehand by both Klopp and the club, who’d have thought that the official site publishing the route change for the bus would create an issue......it was Everton fans apparently
Spot on re the footie .Salah was more clearly offside than a couple given against City in the second half ... plus City defended like pub players for all 3 goals ...
It’s a no lose game for Pep, he’ll put out a side of largely fringe players, and if they win and land the title they can gloat that they did it with their stiffs against United. Lose or draw and they can shrug and seal the title the following week.
I disagree a bit, City popped the ball around a bit without doing anything with it and then we scored. Salah did look offside but it was a fine margin and not an easy call. We then had a good spell and scored 2 more and deserved the 3 nil. City then had a lot of the ball but again did little with it. The whistle went early for their goal and we stopped playing haven't seen that back so can't comment. The bus thing shouldn't have happened, no excuses.
It's a shame they have already got the league in the bag or this would have been the time they meltdown. United will play for the draw then they got Spurs at Wembley..in between they are out of Europe
