It’s a difficult one. Let’s say you happen to have a .357 cal target rifle, and you happen to be a pretty decent shot (ie. you could blow a scrote’s brains out with it at a quarter of a mile, let alone the length of your (in my case) extensive hallway). It would be a massive temptation not to use it to defend your property and especially your family from an armed intruder. I’m not sure how I would react, and I sincerely hope I am never put in that situation.

The 78 year old man who killed the intruder has been released on bail pending further investigations now. Seems likely that he’s not going to be charged with murder now
