So . Now I have been given the all clear by the Police ( They won't prosecute me ) I can tell you what happened a week last Monday . I was sent home from work with what felt like Just a cold at about 12:00. Several people asked if I was ok to drive and I said yes . I don't even remember getting in my car . I drove the wrong way down Mountbatten way , across the central reservation , across 2 lanes of on coming traffic and ended up in a tree . It was sheer luck that I didn't hurt myself or , worse , any other poor soul . The traffic Cops & Ambulance staff could not believe nobody else was involved . If there is a moral to this story , it's simply enjoy each day as best you can , because none of us know what's around the corner !!!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43648259 N Korea missile 'could reach UK shores within months' So what's the problem ? If it's going to take months to get here , surely that gives us AGES to shoot the bloody thing out of the sky no ?
I don't actually remember any of it ( thankfully ) until I had come to a stop. Still cannot believe my luck , not allowed to drive for a few weeks until I get check ups and the OK from the Hospital to drive again , but that is more than fair enough .
They thought I had Scarlet fever , so was in isolation and pumped full of anti-biotics for a couple of days . Turns out it was a very VERY nasty Flu strain ( stayed in isolation and given other stuff to fight it ) , affected my Kidneys and Electrolytes ( Minerals ) in my blood . Basically my heart said " Does not compute " had a blip and I passed out behind the wheel . No not an affect of any medication I was / am on .
Bloody hell, Jasper. So glad you’re ok and no one else was involved and, thank goodness, no one hurt. Very nasty experience and just goes to show how things can happen so quickly and without any warning. Take it easy buddy!
Yes . I wanted to post a few days ago from the Hospital , but a brother in law is a copper , and he said best not to until I am officially OK ref possible prosecution .
Good advIce. Best to keep quiet until everything’s agreed. Reminds me of a narrow escape I had - I was at work and felt really rough. Was going to drive home but my boss, bless him, refused to let me do that. He got someone to drive me home, the (then) missus put me to bed and they took her back up to collect the car. By the time she got back, I was delirious and didn’t know what was going on. Doc said similar to you - bad flu verging on pneumonia Never really thought it that much till I saw your post. Then I thought “Blimey - what if I had driven?”
The chap arrested for killing a burglar has been bailed....sensible as he is no threat to anyone, nor will he go anywhere. One witness said that he saw an accomplice try to get the dead man into a vehicle and the idiot pulled out the knife/screwdriver (?). His action was the worst thing you can do with a penetrating wound as you may aggravate the injury or cause bleeding. Someone has put some flowers where the man died. It made me think about how would I feel. Awful enough to lose a loved one, but how must it feel to know that very few people agree with you. It would be like you aren't free to mourn normally because there is a huge amount of shame as well.
Flippin' heck, No1J!! So glad you're OK and that it's not being taken further. Shows just how serious flu can be. Please take care of yourself!
Everyone was amazingly lucky that day it could have been so much worse! What a scary experience. Glad you're feeling better now.
