Looks like Man City are going to end up with the league and league cup , not a bad effort but a few pundits and journos who were ready to proclaim the best team ever , maybe a bit premature
More likely disillusioned ex-Huyton fans with a festering grievance that football has only took off and is popular in Liverpool because it gets more exposure then rugby league. A line trotted out at regular intervals in the local media around Hull.
The only saving grace in the bin dippers going through is the fact that the further they go in the competition the more it will hurt when they get knocked out. Then we can all point and laugh at the verminous arseholes.
Media fawning to a sycophantic level ensues. Nice to see the dirtbags smashed the coach up that bad it had to be replaced. Hopefully they will go out in the semis or the pubs of Hull will be full up for the final.
Imagine if Man City won the second leg 4-0. You'd have to put a lot of Hull on suicide watch. Obviously ignore said watch, of course.
I usually want the English teams to do well in Europe but not Liverpool. I can’t decide what would be better, them losing in the final or getting dry humped in the semis?
I'm not giving up hope. Manchester certainly have it in them to deliver a 4 nowt. Maybe Happy could predict it for them?
Either will do !! The media go on about the great European atmospheres at anfield. They have a great atmos once in a blue moon it sounds pretty quiet whenever I see there highlights on tele
On Jim whites show on TS they are saying cannot believe liverpool had a player playing who only cost them £8m in the summer AskEhab
That team bus looked fine to me. A few wavy davy types letting off red smoke bombs (I know) and empty plastic Bud bottles flying around while hostile Reds fans from all over NW Europe booed it. Say, did I ever tell you of that time we took a hit outside the Goldstone in Jan 85(?) in a National Coaches bus? Big side window out, snow on the ground outside all the way back to Hull. It was like Kurt Russell's 1982 The Thing by the time we got back. Different century.
Or Southend away, Friday night, 2001/02 ish. Our first promotion for ages, and a decent City following there considering it was a Friday night. If we'd have won we would have gone up automatically, but we drew 0-0. Or was it 1-1 ? Our 50 odd seater independently organised bus was parked up in a side street near the ground. When we got back after the game the back window had been put through despite the bus being surrounded by coppers. Then a couple of local scallys rode up on push bikes and took photos of the damage. A 'result' for them ? We had to wait for a replacement bus to be sent from Hull. Nothing on News at 10.
It's only 25 miles from Lpool to MCR...surely 3 people carriers after the game would have sufficed if the coach was knackered. Mind you, LFC once flew back from Humberside.
