Who said kill all the banter?

Surely there has to be a balance though, seriously look through the threads on here and see how many get derailed and good topics get lost.

Take this thread as an example, who should I place on ignore? Even if I placed every Millwall fan on ignore what about all the fellow Leeds fans that respond and get sucked in... Post 12 Millwall fan tries to goad a response, it is ignored so post #22 they try again, post 29 the same then LCW gets suckered in and you can then ignore everything up until Jammy points out how a good subject has once again been ruined...

Marcus pointed out on another thread today, it is the same old **** regurgitated

Don't you start, but you could give your advice out again about the ignore button. It really cuts down on the traffic.

I may have to go back 100 years, but i'm sure I can make a list of players your club has spent on transfers, still may not reach 45m though

Wow, that was a trudge to get here ...

Getting back to the OP, you have to give Warnock all the credit for Bamba. One Warnock phrase sorted him out (eventually): "You've got to realise that you're not feckin' Beckenbaur - you're a CB. Do your feckin' job". And that, my friends, is the big difference in him. It's taken him wee while, but he's got there. It's well documented, & Warnock is rightly proud of what he did. He no longer roves up the park leaving gaps behind him when he loses possession, or having to make big lunges.

Speaking of which, Pontus is equally guilty of this. That and having an injury that causes him to have a lie down almost every match. But that's for another thread.... :D

Not sure if it's the Bartley effect, but Pontus isn't a shadow of the player he was last season (in the few games I've seen)

Their partnership worked. Pontus was gung-ho, and the rather slower Bartley was always behind him to mop things up. Add Monk's hugely defensive set-up, & we were always well covered for his errant ways. Btw, most of his cards were for lunges at people when he lost the ball!
This season, he has neither Bartley nor the defensive-minded set-up. And it shows. He's being asked to be a 'normal' CB, and I don't think he's up to it at Championship level. He's been primarily at fault for many goals this season, and a secondary contributor for many others. I've dissected a number of goals from slo-mo on here this season, and he features regularly, along with the word 'spectator'. I'd be delighted if he left us ASAP. I think he may be causing ructions in the background, and his apparent wish to leave may well be down to him realising that he's been found out (plus the ever-present, and understandable, wish for PL wages, of course). If he leaves for the PL, he'll disappear in no time, IMO.

I'm sure PL clubs would have scouted him well, so don't think many would be that interested tbh - World Cup may change that though!!

Hopefully we'll get lucky & he'll shine at the WC. Then we'll be able to use the higher sale money to get a better replacement. :D

No you wouldn't would you. What you really mean is you don't want to admit you were wrong about Bamba.

No one player makes a team, but one player can make a huge difference to the collective of a team - Bamba is that type of player.
