Anyone looking forward to the Masters? Trying to work out who my money is on but it's so competitive this year. I think it's got the makings Of The best yet.
Massively. I'd love to see Tommy Fleetwood win it. Or any English golfer for that matter. Other than that its hard not to be excited by the return of Tiger. It would be a fantastic story. In terms of who I see winning it, I'll have to be pretty boring - Thomas would be my first pick, then Speith. My outside bets would be Tyrell Hatton or Thomas Pieters.
I'm well excited for it, especially as Tiger seems to be finally playing some good golf and hitting some form. If Dustin Johnson can make sure he has some slippers with him this year so he doesn't slip down the stairs again in his socks like he did last year he may well be in with a shout but he isn't really in that great a form coming into this tournament. I think McIlroy could come good this time around but I really do fancy Tiger I have to admit. He's been there so many times and if he is within a few shots of the leaders going into the final round then that will definitely play on their minds and give them something to think about. Wonder how many hole in 1's we'll see on the 16th this year, apart from the 12th it's one of my favourite holes on the course when they put the pin down in the bottom left hand corner of the green. (the 12th at Augusta) - is there a better hole on a golf course anywhere else in the world?
This is a pretty good watch as well, summed up pretty nicely at the end. You can go birdie-birdie-eagle on these 3 holes and it can change your whole round....and the tournament. Can't wait for it to start.
When I looked I thought this was going to be a thread about the Mods on this board. Bit disappointing really.
I know you're on holiday abroad Chippy but would you care to put that into any recognised language for me and others to respond to.
I think Europeans I like could be Rose or Rahm. Jason Day would be in with a good shout but I do think there is a headline story waiting to be written that sees Tiger win it.
The spotlight on him this weekend is going to be immense if it isn’t already. He seems to be well over his back issues and the issue around stamina having not played so much over the last couple of years will surely have been answered with his recent performances. First thing first is to make the cut and then to keep himself in the leading pack. Aside from Mickelson he’s probably the best golfer in with a shout of winning it and there aren’t many in the field this weekend who’ve been there and done it as much as those two and know their way around the course like they do. That being said, You’d struggle to find a better performance recently over the 4 days wire to wire than Speith put in back in 2015 so surprises can happen .
No way will Tiger get close. You need to be consistently good at Augusta and he isnt yet. Casey might be a good outside bet. Always seems to be in the hunt there.
The off times https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/golf/43634645 Bubba, Stenson and Day would be a great group to follow. Got a feeling one of them will get off to a strong start.
Yeah its pie in the sky really in terms of common sense. However I wouldn't have had 68 yr old Tom Watson winning the par 3 or Jack Nicklaus grandson hitting a hole in one last night... I don't know if anyone watched but Watson (68), Nicklaus (78) and Player (82) were spellbinding last night. Jack is ice cold but when his grandson hit the hole in one even he had a tear in his eye. Magical TV. I switched off Liverpool's demolition of Man C it was that good.
Unbelievable like. I watched Nicklaus earlier in the week and he was talking about his last masters win at the age of 46. He was talking about it like it was last week! He was talking about which club he tee'd off with on the 16th, how far he laid up from the hole, where the pin was etc etc. I can't even remember what I did last ****ing Monday . Must be an amazing event to be at as a spectator let alone as a competitor. Good luck to all the UK guys taking part but I think the winner will come from over the pond unfortunately on this occasion. We (EU) have won it the last 2 years running with Garcia and Willett. Stenson might surprise a few mind. Not a bad hole in one from his grandson either...i've watched it over and over again and it gets better each time. Only managed it once myself off the tee at Whitburn but it was a provisional as I thought I'd lost my first tee shot, lads were trying to get me to buy the beers which I would've happily done if they'd counted it .
Pissed off that there is nowhere to watch actual full coverage. Sky claim to have full coverage but that only starts at 7pm which is basically when the last group are teeing off. You can watch Amen corner and a few key groups before that.
Tiger’s driving has been shocking today. If he can rein it in tomorrow he can catch up as thankfully nobody seems to be running away with it. Garcia on 15 was just ridiculous, 4 balls in the drink in exactly the same fashion. Game over for him I’m afraid.
