As these 2 are the mainstays in Cardiff and Fulham's promotion pushes, who will admit to saying they were crap and we need to get off the wages ?

Certainly Bamba. He was a liability.

Wasn't in best 2 CH last season but since the 2 regulars were on loan, should we have kept him?,he's better than Cooper surely.

Chesh - Bamba is such a "liability" that we're in an auto spot with him and you're heading for the trap door without him - what a bad decision from Monk and your club to pay him off.

The difference between the two players you mention is that Bamba's best years are behind him and Cairney has still got his best in front of him.

We're getting the best out of Bamba now, but Cairney is pure class for the future. If Fulham don't go up, he won't be there next season - he'll be snapped up for the Prem.

We've played him in midfield a couple times this season.
He's up there with Morrison and Hoilett as our player of the season.
    Bargain signing of the season.

Bamba was so bad for us that we cancelled his contract before the end of the season by mutual consent

Bamba and Cairney are brilliant with good players around them - something they would never ever get while at Leeds.

    No you didn't.

His contract wasn't cancelled before the season ended at all. He'd started playing for you in 2016 and you paid up his contract just after the summer transfer window closed. His face didn't fit with Cellino after criticising him the previous season and it was Monk that was given the job of axing him - more fool him.

Warnock told him to wait as a free agent until he got a club to manage. That club was Cardiff a few weeks later and the rest is history.

Pretty sure we cancelled his contract as we felt sorry for his as he couldn't even get on the bench

Wishful thinking there Elland - no such thing as "feeling sorry" in Cellino's vocabulary. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Elland is right,we cancelled his contract, after about 4 games into a new season,1st September, didn't sign for Cardiff till October.Wasn't good enough for regular position, but was better than Cooper,so should have been 1st reserve.

Sorry but no, Elland is not right. He said you cancelled his contarct before the end of the season whereas he'd started 2016/2017 for you as club captain and played.

His contract was paid up in the September because his face didn't fit with Cellino. He pulled the plug getting Monk to do the biz.

He did play for you at the start, but to say he wasn't good enough to stay and compete with what you had in that position is laughable in the light of experience.

September is before the end of the season.<doh>
He wasn't good enough to compete with Bartley and Jansson but was good enough for 3rd choice and better than Pennington and Cooper this season.
