good job we bought a CB in january as we started out with 3 senior CBs and one young man back from injury this season.

Injuries happen. We've bought the guy we wanted and right now we've two fit. Last week we had 3 fit.

My only issue is going into a full season in august knowing full well you don't have the players and hoping it'll be ok.

we discussed this in the summer window. Klopp will only buy players he really wants rather than "padding" the squad. It has led to a more focussed transfer policy but does mean a smallish squad compared to some of our rivals. Had a worry when Grujic loaned out in Jan that we might be pushing our luck but he did need game time so it was a calculated risk.

IMO getting the guy you really want 3/4 months later is one thing.

I think we had money and we bought ox as keita was 12 months away. Thats one example. I don't think we never pad the squad. I think theres "i want this guy and if i can't get him i will keep who i have" and theres "i don't have a player"

IMO sturridge, origi, coutinho, can are all goners so... well we will see who klopp gets

I don't think 23 is an outrageous squad size btw. City and utd prob have 30

i think we are well served enough but need some more players

realistically, is the the starting 11 that we'll put out for City that much different to what Klopp would have actually started with? Can for Milner perhaps and Gomez for TAA maybe.

It's Everton away and the following Tuesday against City (if we're still in the tie) that we'll struggle if we pick up any injuries or knocks.

Regarding squad depth - we need to add more quality. In no particular order:

    1) GK
    2) CB
    3) RB assuming Gomez moves inside
    4) CM
    5) FW who can play across the front 3

We'll probably get 2 or 3 of these

    1) FW (Lemar?)
    2) CM (Jorginho?)
    3) GK (Alisson?)
    4) CB (De Vrij)

In today's market, that's £170-£200m right there and De Vrij would be free!! <yikes>

Then bring through a couple of the lads from under 23 to pad out the squad.

Would still leave us soft in defence imo but we all know Klopp prefers to prioritise elsewhere first! <laugh>

I think he’s most likely to sign for Inter.

Inter. Signing for Juve would actually make a bit of sense.

They're just examples. Reality is that we will only pay top dollar for whoever Klopp says we should buy. Up until now, his transfer record cannot be questioned. So Who are we to argue with who we actually buy this summer.

    yup.

this is really just about what's actually needed to win something.
