If Poch stayed then yes, but again he only had a year left (iirc) and if Spurs or another of the big teams had targeted him to be their manager I think he probably would have gone. This is all ifs and buts but I think people read far too much into what is quite a simple scenario. Bigger team offers more money and person will leave.
I remember people saying that Redmond and Boufal were Mane's replacement. The hope was that Austin/Redmond/Boufal could replace the goals lost from Pelle/Mane. Again on here there were a few (myself included) who said that once they had a run of games Yoshida,Stephens and Hoedt would be fine enough to see us survive. We were wrong but the blame can be shared between lots of people in terms of us going down. That was an assumption. I watch a lot of La Liga and when Pellegrino was hired I remember coming on here and saying that if people moaned about Puels defensive style then they were going to hate Pellegrino. The only possible reason I can see based on all the stuff released by the club when he was hired (return to attacking, high press football) is that he had told them he would manage completely different to how he did at Alaves where they were underdogs in every game and any type of point was a bonus. It is why I think we played well against the bigger teams in the league, he knows how to set up when you are an underdog and not as good as the opposition, he just has no clue what to do when you are the favourites. I'm not defending the board, I was just saying what I thought their thinking was to each of Chilco's questions at the time.
Going to the gym tomorrow and have to face the misery of 3 other Saints fans. I can't relive this again.
It’s a reference to one of Carrillo’s training shots which went so far over the bar that Boufal said “I think it’s hit a bird”, the scamp.
Watch “The Sure Skill” challenge. You’ll get it then. Oh **** it; he nearly killed a passing overhead bird.
