This evening I watched Everton v Man City. The first half was one of the most complete displays of football from a team that I think I can ever remember. Difficult passes controlled with ease, constant movement meaning there was always a spare man to pass to, speed on and off the ball. At one point Man City had 90% of possession for a five minute spell. As a coaching aid those 45 minutes should be shown to every other team in the PL. It is no wonder that they have beaten every other team this season in at least one game.
You should replace the word Everton with Watford and it was afternoon but there 1st half display was what every team should try for
Looks as though the club didn't see that he was the man to restore them to the PL. "West Bromwich Albion have parted company with manager Alan Pardew after eight successive league defeats. " He was appointed on the 29th Novemember last year.
I've left the Norwich board, because I didn't agree that Mick McCarthy was a "class act", I've been accused of sniping!
I am sad to read that Dave. I have had a look, and as usual with football fans there is not always agreement. More than pleased that you got to a game. I know the feeling. I will be in the UK for for my youngest getting married later this month, and she has chosen a Saturday when we are at home. As much as we can get a stream or listen in to the official commentary, it is not quite the same as being there. A football forum is not the same as supporting Your team. You can give up the forum, but not the club. As you know you are always welcome here and we look out for you as much as any other human being.
Just a question that I don't know the answer to. Did you grow up in Norwich? I have only known you as a Somerset man.
Born near Norwich, (11 miles South), moved to Suffolk aged 4 years, left home and moved to London aged 16 years, moved to Lincoln in 1979, then to Weston in 2000
My team in France are away tonight in Lens. A big proper football stadium and it is well filled. The kick off was not until 20.45 which means a late finish. Just tuned in and we have a quite decent looking lady ref. Probably a sexist remark, but she looks fine from here.
A good open and entertaining game up in Lens tonight, but it is one of those games where you know it is not going your way whatever happens. Keeper saves a goal with his back and hasn't a clue where it has gone. Two open goals and forwards miss from a few yards out. Still I am impressed with our lady ref. She is doing a great job and is very speedy.
