Remind me - didn't Caroll have a five year deal shortly before he left though?

I work hard but I still slag you off and had you pay me while I was in prison and off sick from work for quite a long time.
So Barton and Cabaye are equal? But Cabaye's faster, younger, less aggro as well as being cheaper. Obertan only in the team because HBA is injured. Would Nolan played that often this season? How many times did people slag him off saying he was slow, didn't pass very well and a passenger?

Yeah, Cameron is probably the worse of the 2 evils.

McKay looks after #1 first and the players second.

Agreed. The thing I find frustrating though is that many fans think that the financial austerity measures aren't necessary or are a lie. The simple truth is that Shepherd and Hall didn't have the FIFA regs to deal with. If they were still in control now they would have had to bite the bullet, recognise the inevitable and take the same steps and would now be hated for losing good players because they asked them to take pay cuts on contract re-negotiation and because they could no longer afford to make marquee signings. Instead and purely because of timing they are being held up as the model big spending owners that make Ashley a twat because he isn't doing the same.

Did you expect us to turn down £35M for an injured player who as we've seen has been terrible recently.

I don't expect any team to offer any where near that amount when there are identical players all over the world for far cheaper. The only reason that Dalglish signed Carroll was probably because he foolishly promised he'd sign English talent..

He once bought and donated a state-of-the-art team bus to Newcastle United but took it back when Kevin Keegan quit as manager. The Sultan of Brunei...<rofl>

Wouldn't it be great to keep them all though. All good players.

We won't agree, you clearly agree with some decisions MA is making, I don't agree with any. He will keep ruining us and once suspensions and injuries come into play, and you see Guthrie in the middle or even Alan Smith, don't start complaining as you clearly see justification in getting rid of players that would come in and do a job.

We have a starting 11, and once that is ****ed, then who do we have, reserves.

Sad to see good players go and our chances of winning something dwindle away, but at the end of the day we're Toon supporters and we'll just keep on going.

Exactly, we should have made the signings we made without getting rid of anybody. We should be developing our squad and we should be showing ambition and making progress not selling our best players and replacing them. Carroll, Nolan, Barton, Enrique, Colo & Tiote were our star players last season, selling 2/3 of your star players isn't ambition. If we kept our star players and got rid of the dead wood (Perch, Smith, Lover, Routledge, Guthrie) and then signed the players we signed that would be ****ing progress. The amount of 'fans' who lick ashleys arse is unbelievable!

You'd think that a business man like Ashley would believe in the 'speculate to accumulate' theory.
