If Sparky does think of dropping Bertie, i'd rather we recalled Matty Targett from Fulham rather than throw Sam McQueen in. Targett has been playing regularly and is getting plenty of praise from Fulham fans apparently.
Been saying for ages Lemina, Tadic, Gabbi are not up to the job. Nothing to do with systems. They are just ****ing mavericks who couldn't give a toss about the shirt. Finally people are seeing this. JWP, Davis and Long for me.
Because it's a transfer window to transfer window loan, I think. Any recall can only be done within a transfer window and both parties have to agree. I remember reading a discussion about this on SaintsWeb when they were clamouring to bring back Gallagher.
This Bertrand thing has gone off the deep end a bit. He withdrew from the England squad as a precaution. That's not what you do if you only care about being in the World Cup team. Unless we're saying he didn't want Southgate to find out he is secretly rubbish.
Agreed. I might take the captaincy off him because he's never really looked captain materiel, but I'm not ready to bin him off yet. I think we have more problems at RB anyway, and have done for two seasons really.
I'm not looking for a scapegoat....too many candidates. The management and players all got us here, now have to work together and not look for anyone to blame. I'll let Hughes off because he is the fireman brought in when the barn was virtually burnt down.
I’m not even sure if these post match confessions are created by the players. Someone in the PR section writes them out for them is my take on it and the short straw this week goes to......? If this stuff was genuine then we would have seen vast improvements over recent weeks, not the decline we’ve become used to.
Ian Wright's comments on Radio 5 last night were interesting. The consensus amongst the panel that included Chris Sutton was that Saints were down and that we had not only sacked Pellegrino too late but made a bad decision in appointing Mark Hughes. No one on the panels thought that Hughes was a good choice and felt that it was totally uninspired selection by Reed as Hughes had failed at Stoke. They suggested that the club does not have the players capable of pulling us to safety and lacked leaders. The strongest criticism came with regard to the board who Wright suggested were inept.
We see it. Pundits see it. It was so obvious from about November/December. That is the most frustrating part of it.
