I keep reading comments about it being 3 games into the season so it's too early to sack Steve Bruce.

Yes, the current season has just started. The dreadful run of results didn't start against the Mags. It dates back to January. Does anyone think that progress has been made against two seperate but important benchmarks?

    1) the beginning of last season
    2) January 2011

We started last season with Jones, Bent, & Campbell. Later Welbeck joined on loan and we signed Gyan after Jones had been sold.

By the Jan window closed we had lost both Jones and Bent and Campbell was injured.

In this close season we have signed two boys as strikers; Ji and Wickham. Whatever potential these lads have, neither have played at this level or near it.

We are three games in but arguably are weaker in terms of attack certainly than we were 12 months ago and arguably also since the Jan window as Campbell remains injured and Welbeck has returned to OT.

The shambolic second half of last season to my mind meant that Bruce had to replace and improve the strike force (not weaken it) and he had to get off to a very good start. He has failed dismally, and that for me is the reason why he has to go now.

As a club we have been far too slow historically to show the door to failing managers. The only time in the last 30 years when the club was shown to have acted hastily was in getting rid of Allan Durban (and he should not have been sacked at all!). In all other cases we have persisted for far too long until too much damage has been done to recover the season.

Bald you do know posting a negative thread about Bruce means you know nothing about football or our great club?

Please refrain from voicing your discontent. (No matter how valid your points may be<ok>)

Do feel free however to post about how we have never had it so good and none of our present problems are down to our manager.

    Cheers. <ale>

good points mate and hard to argue with but my point is that like it or not Bruce will be with us, IMO, untill the next window at the earliest.

thats why I stick with him, not becuse it may be right or wrong just because its what we have.

Aye, and add clapping hands at the end of your post. Then they'll think your one of them, one of them, one of them. (Not a distinct person who is capable of independent thought. :emoticon-0105-wink:)

So Comm, does that mean that those who want Bruce out are not going to support Sunderland when they win with Bruce unless a win comes with a different manager, I hope not. The club is bigger than any manager.

  9. Not at all, we all want success for our club. The way I see it is, I pay a lot of money to go and see my team play and for a good part over the last 18 months I've seen a team lacking in tactics, leadership on and off the park, no plan b unless you call hoofball that? What we have is a sound man managing our club who has a great eye for a player, conducts himself in my eyes superbly and comes across as a gentleman. That's where the buck stops with me though because as a manager he leaves me with my head bowed in disbelief that he is our current manager. I'm been polite to the man here and I won't list my whys etc because some hundred plus posters before me have said it..

  11. The way I see it Dorset and the plenty around me in the East Stand, The Wheatsheaf, The Colliery, Companions club etc etc, so I'm not alone and something is very wrong indeed with our club management, on field tactics, team training, team selections and ****ing basic common sense at picking a team. We see it, why can't they..

I'm getting a bald patch on my head through scratching it so much, thinking WTF is going on? You're right Joe. You've only got to look through some of the threads, to see that nearly all of us on here can see where things are going wrong. I'm totally baffled and haven't got a clue what will happen with the formation, tactics and who will play (and where) tomorrow. I'm just hoping that everything clicks into place and we put in a good performance.

  14. Me too Dorset and as usual the fans will stand proud. Patience though is fast running out and for me the next two games are crucial for Mr Bruce & Mr Black..

  16. Defo..

I'm up for the Chelsea game and to be honest if the result goes well tomorrow then I can see the fire in the belly for that game. Might even take a beach ball or better still a ****ing good striker lol. Heard this Spaniard Swanna Vesta is good in a emergency..:)

Said something similar the other day myself Joe, I don't know anyone personally who thinks Bruce is the way forward for SAFC.
And some of the comments of my mates are much more venomous than the comments made on here.

Bruce is about the only thing we agree on, the rest of the time we are arguing the toss none stop about the players. :)
That will never change as we all watch the same match but see a different game. hahaha

  18. Agree with that MR, I'm not wanting Barcelona just maybe a premier version of the 2006 team that was promoted as champions with the unbeatable attitude that RK installed in them. People say progress has been made but to me 24000 new fans at the Britannia stadium have made more progress in a ramshackle cast-off team in the last 3 years. We have the right board, just not the right management & like Graeme Souness was in 1989 at Rangers, Steve Bruce tries to sound a lot more intelligent than he actually is. Not his fault but a sad fault of modern day English football..

Aye there's no guarantee good footballer's will make good managers.
You would think having played for the best, some of it would have rubbed off, I know I did.
Then the likes of Bryan Robson proves us wrong.

  20. The sad thing is MR, Brucey is reminding me a lot of Robson at the mo and that's ****ing scary and believe me I don't scare easily..:afro:.........aaaaaargh where did that **** come from..........lol
