Of course he did, he’s a professional footballer and that’s what professional footballers do, particularly when they’re at a club on the slide.
Good servants the lot of them?? That's the piss boiling bit. If the money grabbing ****bag was called a half decent mercenary looking for his next pay day, fine. But servant? Have another pah
He gave his all while playing for us, he was our top scorer and we got plenty of coin for him, it’s the most you can expect from any player.
Snodgrass did try more than most, though in general I think players get somewhat of an easy ride at times from supporters, good players shouldn't need a crowd cheering them on to play for god's sake. They should have enough pride in their position, and ambition even to put effort in. But you can often pick out the few who are always bothered compared to those who aren't. Also the money people pay to watch mainly goes to the players, all the more reason to give them some responsibility.
Snodgrass gave his all for us whilst he was with us. I did find it a bit galling that after his long injury, once he was back fully fit and playing well he jumped ship in the manor he did. However I guess he was instrumental in getting us promoted back to the EPL and probably felt that was him vidicated.
Let’s be honest we shouldn’t be blaming Snoddy for moving, we should be blaming Ehab for making it happen?
And then continued to show their loyalty by staying with the same club until the end of their careers. Just like, oh...
Haha, fair play you got me there. But I really didn’t count pissing about on holiday in Australia as part of his career. The original point was they stayed through adversity and didn’t jump ship, including the disgrace of consecutive 7th place finishes. Oh ****, I’m still learning this... I meant to say calm down soppy tart, I was only joking.
Ashbee is my favourite player ever but it was easy for someone like him to be a good servant when he’s selected every week. When things went sour he handed in a transfer request on the eve of a key game. Daws was different, people oft forget that he shared to role with Roland Edge for a while, with one playing home and the other away. But he didn’t publicly complain.
But he wasn’t getting picked. Why would he stay? He obviously realised at the age he was that he needed to be playing, hence the move. Jakupovic is another example, he stayed and even endured a loan to Leyton Orient.
