Totally agree on the handball, ref totally bottled it and that went in our favour. But he shouldnt have been on a yellow so maybe balanced up. I can even go with the no pen, but todays standards are contact allows you to go down so i dont th8nk it was a yellow imho as the contact was clear. Really annoying thing is he was in a good position. Had he carried on. As i keep saying souness nailed that incident for me purely from biomechanical point. Everyone else just been blinkered, i think. Also in same game ref missed a nailed on pen for shirt pulling way worse than skrts’ so again maybe balanced up What would be funny is if mane scores or sets up goals against everton as that would compound refs mistake.
Yep, I can just imagine what went through his mind "oh dear that chap just clipped my foot but I am in a really bad position to fall down, I think I will straighten up and turn to face the ref before I though my arms and legs out for a better landing"
Well its very rare i can use my area of expertise on this forum but as most of you on here seem to be business speacialists, this falls in my particular area of expertise and what Souness said was spot on, as you can imagine barely any of the words you have put Diego featured in his explanation, certainly not in that order or context. I would imagine you are an expert in this field too as you seem to be in most but on this occasion as I said yesterday the worst was exaggeration as he could not have gone down any other way. As people seem to enjoy looking at the slo mo, slo it down even more and watch what his body actually does. Watch ozil in slo mo today there was a definite delayed reaction, not sa long as mane but definitely there. Many have pointed out the double standard of the pundits who are supporting so not going to go there. Mane was both lucky and unlucky yesterday. As I have also said, i get why the ref didnt give it but it wasnt a yellow. We have also had the ref is god argument so in the end all is right with the world. Anyway you should be chuffed with your result yesterday. Next week could be a bit of a bummer for us all I certainly take no solace in the fact e.veryone has fallen so short.
That falling down when you think youve won the foul and grab the ball happens every single match for every team, annoys the crap out of me.
Ozil was trying to shoot and the defender got to the ball first. By the letter of the laws it is a foul by Ozil. It was neither a penalty nor simulation. **** decision but neither player was, trying to cheat. Mane deliberately fell over and held his leg after minor contact. Clear yellow card. I dislike Liverpool and Arsenal about equally so am unbiased here.
No whoever flopped for your pen at anfield was minor/no contact Yesterday was actually contact, quite a bit of but because of where the weight was things were different. Ozil was a pen today if you are talking about the one given.
Yet you had absolutely no problem when lamela did just that too against V VD. And I don't hate spurs as They're generally insignificant.
I do have a really irrational dislike for spurs, lmao Which makes it harder as they have done really well building their club
So you acknowledge there was contact but insist it warranted a booking. That'll be that none biased view point then
Any sim Any simulation is a yellow card, not all contact is a foul, not all players who fall without contact dive. I often think many people (including pundits) have no idea what they are watching.
I agree about the simulation but it should not irradicate the original action. Eg If a player is tackled hard and ref blows for free kick, player fouled then retaliates, what action results A free kick for original challenge in favour of aggrieved player with a card for retaliation to the player who was fouled. To me that is closer to what should have happened yesterday, it was a pen but he did exaggerate, but he was definately fouled. Said this to someone yesterday but would actually applaud refs if they started to do this. Cant remeber his name but there is a famous one in the world cup whare a player was fouled on his leg and famously clutched his face. In that instance a free kick was given, but player should also have been carded. Then you also have the flip sides where refs arent giving decisions if the player doesnt exaggerate - examples of which there are many. It difficult, but my opinion, forgoing any of the smaller more contentious decisions was that the ref had a howler yesterday, he got nearly every major decsion wrong (only one he got right was their pen). He defo should have sent mane off, and the only logical reason as to why he didnt was that he, with hindsight at ht realised he had actually made a mistake. That ref missed one of the most blatant shirt pulls i have seen in a long time but spotted a foul throw of which most dont even bother with now. Just a bad day for him, no drama. Edit the exception to this being if you claim racial abuse, in that case you can assault someone then not be reprimanded at a later date if allegations are found to have not enough evidence I apologise that was uncalled for
