It's believable, but only just. The issue is that in the coming couple of years I think that there's a bank loan calling in 2019 and parachute payments for only 2 more years? Take-over is required and soon. Relegation now isn't just an issue in the short term, it all but guarantees that the parachute payments will run out before a push for the Premiership can be made.

    Don't 'jump the gun' . . . . a 'push for the championship' comes first :emoticon-0126-nerd:

You cannot expect to win them all, you are going to have bad luck sometimes

I totally disagree with that.. If we expect investors with no connection to the club to put their money into the club, in my opinion supporters who can afford season tickets should do the same..

Don't know if anyone else picked up on something the commentator said.

Mentioned takeover and rumours or Irish involvement then said 'new owners from much closer to home from what we are being told'.

    A Love Supreme just posted this on twitter;

"We understand that last week a deal was agreed for a north east based consortium to take over the running of the club".

    Interesting

Yes I heard that. Is this based on survival or League 1 status though or will that just alter the price?

When the club is run like a business, stakeholders should treat it like one. While it's being run like a saloon in the Wild West. I can't blame anyone for loyalty but frugality.

People should spend their money but save their money and do something that brings them pleasure. If it's not the football they'd be stupid to overspend.

football experts will be involved including ex-player input
funds available for young, hungry lads who want to play for the club & understand passion required

    - aim is to connect the fans, team, academy, staff and local businesses.
    - number of meetings with Board and Ellis representatives over a number of weeks
    - Big meeting in London with Short after Sheff Wed game

So much for Short's only looking to cover debts. Why should he have any comebak on value of future payers as new consortium will have bought them to rescue us from his recent lack of investment.

Summary of proposed business certainly sounds good. Let's hope it happens and happens soon.

I'm with you, there are bigger problems in the world and people risk bad health and debt going to the football, I can't blame anyone for putting family, home life and health first, the club just isn't making the risk worth it. My priorities lie elsewhere at the moment, i've spent the last decade on the bread line and risked further bad health, not being able to pay bills or get decent food in just to see the lads. Not anymore. Hope to have a season card next season, but it depends on who owns the club.

Short made a string of well intentioned, but ultimately bad decisions for the club. Let's hope that his intentions haven't changed, and that he makes the right decision this time, which must include writing off some of his losses in the interest of the club. This is not an easy decision for anyone to make, but a lot depends on it if we are to move forward.

He's entirely money orientated though, keep hearing stuff about him wanting the right buyer for the club, that's not his responsibility. Once there's a price agreed there a new group who will assess the potential buyers suitability to own any English club. Wouldn't read too much into him having the clubs best at heart, that's not even his responsibility anymore. From a business point of view for him I can only see his interests lying in damage control, getting out with the least losses possible. I have no faith that his best interested are club, that doesn't even matter now this committee group is there to do it.

    .Yep

if he had the best interests of the club at heart then we wouldn't be where we are now

He gave it a go, failed, then lost interest

Or faith, but whatever it is, the way its is going, the sooner he hands the club over the better.

Short is like a high stakes gambler holding a casino dealer at gun point over the £50 he just lost.

Everything seems to have gone quiet. Coleman's presser seems to concentrate on next season with same owner and no investment. Hopefully lull bfore the storm with confidentiality of dicussions being respected as alternative too horrendous to contemplate.
