We should also draw a distinction between simulation and exaggeration. The former is not a foul but the latter is (or can be), yet the two terms are treated as synonyms by pundits - when it suits them. Mané is often guilty of exaggeration (I wish he'd pack it in, tbh), but it doesn't mean he wasn't fouled. Also, the word "contact" in this context? I'm pretty sure it refers to mostly upper body contact- pushing and shoving, using your weight etc - and isn't meant to justify a kick on the ankles.
The ref didn’t give it, and he then deliberately handled the ball, we play to the whistle so he should have been booked. The ref bottled the decision.
Exactly, didn't Shearer tell the millions watching the last derby game at halftime that Firmino had used racist language without actually knowing if he did or not, I'm not saying there's an anti Liverpool agenda at the BBC honest.
Ref did not blow up. Let's separate the injustice (percieved) from makes actions. He feels a tap in pen area. He exaggerates it 2 seconds later and gets yellow. He goes down in own half, no free so he grabs ball in a very good area for palace and stops a chance probably. It WAS utterly idiotic
He's just a Groucho Marx fan. (Who famously said; those are my principles, and if you don't like them.... well I have others).
Just because majority do it doesn't mean it's a good thing. I know they're not going to be 100% honest all the time but when something is clear don't try and aggie otherwise
Precisely. It's almost funny now to watch the Shearer compass do a 180 degree turn on what he has previously said whenever he discusses us.
But Lineker or none of the others ever call him out on it, he learned his anti Liverpool crap by sitting to closely to Lawrenson on too many occasions. Lawro sure knew how to put the boot in.
Could never understand when Blueshites and Mancs, wittering on about an ex-Liverpool player bias on MoTD included Lawrensen: he's a boyhood United fan who pulled us to pieces at every opportunity he could. As for Murphy...
Yeah, totally agree, I think Hansen used constructive criticism when talking about LFC as opposed to the destructive criticism of Lawrenson and Murphy et al.
Hahahaha, he’s not predicted a RS defeat in 70 games ffs, but he’s a closet Manc http://www.punditarena.com/football...asnt-predicted-liverpool-to-lose-in-70-games/
Nothing closet about it. I judge him on his comments during games and after-match analysis, not his woefully bad predictions.
You have a point about the two not being the same but simulation or no contact is quite clear and undisputable. But contact and falling to the ground after a second’s thought can still be a dive and therefore deserving of a yellow card. Looking at the replay it would have a penalty if Mane had fallen the instant the contact was made with his leg. But there was a second hesitation then he fell to the ground. That is a dive. Not an exaggeration IMO. his second’s worth of hesitation and his throwing himself to the ground turned a potential penalty into a dive, punishable by a yellow.
