Alright chaps they say a week in football is a long time and its turned out to be the case with regards to us. This time last week we were confident of going into the derby and getting a decent result after a good second half display against Liverpool now its all doom and gloom after a defeat to rivals Newcastle then crashing out of the league cup at the hands of Brighton.

With an international break coming up after this weekends games we need to be going into it with abit of the feel good factor back with hopefully 3points away at Swansea followed by a couple of good signings in the last few days before the transfer window shuts.

Rightly or wrongly Brucie has took some serious stick this week firstly after the defeat to Newcastle then the team selection for the trip down to Brighton, personally I think he has been a tad harshly done to, the Newcastle game was just one of those games we could and should of been out of site by half time and the Brighton game well his team selection was bizarre but hopefully he can get things right tomorrow and we can kick off our campaign.

As for team selection I hope its more balanced tomorrow

    IMO

    ------------------------ Mignolet ------------------------

    O'Shea ------ Ferdinand ---------- Brown -------- Bardsley

    Larrson ---- Cattermole ----------- Gardner ---- Richardson

    ------------ Sessegnon ----------- Gyan -----------------

    subs

Bramble, Elmohamady, Westwood, Vaughan, Colback, Ji, Wickham

    going for a 2-1 win

This would be my selection and set up......

    ------------------------ Westwood ------------------------

    Bardsley ------ Ferdinand ---------- Brown -------- O'Shea

Larrson ---- Gardner -----------Vaughan ---- Colback

    ------------ Sessegnon ----------- Gyan -----------------

    subs

Bramble, Elmohamady, Westwood, Richardson, Cattermole, Ji, Wickham

We need goals and against Swansea I can't see the point of playing a defensive midfielder with our improved defensive line up, which is why I've dropped Catts to the bench. This team has balance with two left footers and two right footers in midfield that can interchange with each other down the wings. Young Jack got a couple of great crosses in from the left against the mags, which is why I have put him out on the left. He will also provide extra defensive cover on our right flank against their speedy and dangerous winger Scott Sinclair.

think you are being a tad harsh mate, until he got injured at the back end of last season he was probably our best player at the time playing in an advanced role

    My team would be:

    -------------------Westwood------------

    O'Shea-----Brown------Anton-------Bardo

    ----Larrsen----Catts-------Gardner-----

    ---Sess-----------Gyan-----------Richo

Now thats an attacking team that can do well...
