Can see why Hughes took the job. Big payday and he won't be blamed if we go down, save us and he is a miracle worker. Sadly we all knew that something needed to be done 10 games ago.
Yes. And I believe that record to be fairly reflective of the playing talent we have on hand. But there are other bad teams as well. We can still overtake Palace. It’s not over yet. There is no excuse for how poorly we played this game though. It does no good to pile on when the club needs support. But people blaming this on Pellegrino...really?
I think the most depressing thing is watching Crystal Palace lose 2-1 but still fight tooth and nail (under Roy ****ing Hodgson). We come-up against West Ham and basically bend over for them.
Literally no point commenting on that. Chance gone, terrible day but not dead yet. My starting team for next week based on what I just saw: McCarthy, Pied, Yoshida, Stephens, Bertrand JWP, Romeu, Hojberg Redmond, Austin, Long
Maybe we could get Pellegrino back for the first half, and Hughes for the second half. We’d draw every game 0-0 then?
We have amazingly lost no ground today and things are still in our own hands. The problem is that we have been so poor in the last two league games, I don't remember the last time we were so lackluster. The difference is last time we were relegated we didn't have the quality but the effort was there. This time it is not the talent but the drive and determination that seem to be lacking & I don't see how this can be easily remedied.
I said it's not that bad. It's our first bad season in almost a decade and half the support can't handle it. It's pathetic.
my god do we need Yoshi back. Stephens and Hoedt have a woeful partnership with Hoedt being by far one of the worst center-backs we've had in a very long time. Plus he looks too similar to Stephens and it makes it hard to criticize him when I need to constantly double check to make sure if it's him or Stephens
We’ve had those for a while now. I had a ruck with the idiot who sat behind me last season and booed everything the team did and had awful stuff to say about Puel. He said “I just want to watch interesting football with plenty of goals”, so I told him he may well get that wish. Hope he was at West Ham today - looks like he got it today .....
I'd almost be tempted to get Matty Targett back from Fulham or start Sam McQueen, Bertie's heart just doesn't look in it to me...
I think a fortunate survival is nearly equally as bad at this point. But you’re right that either way is still quite bad. It’s mainly that I think the badness is sunk cost at this point. We need to start over. If we do, I don’t mind starting from Championship. If we don’t then survival this year just means we get relegated next year so maybe it’s better to get it over with. Yes, optimally we survive and still have a clear out and make a stunning comeback next season. But I’m just focused on the summer. The rest of this season doesn’t matter so much. And there’s nothing the club can do now anyway.
Again, we've got some of the most self entitled fans in the league, going down if it happens will be a much needed reality check for some imo.
Where was Sims today? He's got more talent than Tadic and Redmond combined and has so much heart and desire when on the field.
