I accept your opinión of me and so be it! And I am not going to get personal with you or anyone else as I don´t know you personally, but all I would say we are consumers of a product and if we like it, we buy into it, if we don´t we lose interest. If SFC are relegated, you will find around 9,000 not bothering to go to home matches. Maybe it is my reaction to avoid the pain.
We shouldn't piss our pants about defeat today. We certainly shouldn't turn on one another. This season has stunk of relegation since November. Lets see what we can pull from the ashes, and we still have a semi to enjoy. We have been in worse situations.
It is but it doesn’t help if the attitude on the field is as it seems, disinterested and clueless. Still hoping but fingernails beginning to wear away now. It’ll be interesting to see how MH reacts to this after the match, wouldn’t like to be the person doing the interview!! We march on
Sparky has to find the spirit of Southampton that was evident in the great escape season pretty quickly. He could do a lot worse than starting JWP and making him the Captain IMO.
Unlike many, I haven't turned on Bertrand the player. But I have never understood why he got made captain. Doesn't come across as having a captaincy bone in his body.
I think the idea of the Championship will be a bit more scary this time around. Last time we had a chairman who built a foundation and a keen owner who was investing and had laid out a vision for the club(one that didn't involve selling the entire squad and rebuilding each year, getting a little bit worse each time). We spent a single successful season there and I think that's where the rose-tinted glasses comes from. This time we have a shambolic squad with no moral and little talent (regardless, half of this squad will leave when we go down), an anonymous owner who is yet to reveal any sort of interest in the club and a clueless chairman who sacked an even more clueless manager 4 months too late. If we go down and fail to bounce back almost instantly, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we turn into a mid-table regular once the owner realizes there's no money in the championship, asset-strips and buggers off.
Not really!! I started when SFC were in League 1 and have followed the club throughtout since about 1964. Due to location it has not always been possible to be an active supporter, but I don´t think I am a product of the PL era. Today, I have invited the flak coming my way!!
